I've got the choice of buying a Wes Montgomery album on iTunes, and I'm really leaning toward Incredible Jazz Guitar, Smokin' at the Half Note, or Full House. I'm new to him and I'm really trying to get into jazz guitar. Which album should I buy? And if you've got any other suggestions, feel free to comment. :)

So Much Guitar is one of his better albums, not as good as The Incredible Jazz Guitar but still a great listen. I would also shy away from his latter recording because they were very pop oriented and lacking alot of feel.

yeah, his later recordings were mostly for financial purposes.

Can you blame him after working in a factory all those years though?

Smokin at the Half Note. It's my favorite jazz album ever. You will not be disappointed

It was worth reviving, Wes is the man.

I agree tha Wes is one of the men, not the man but that's all opinion. Also if you feel like talking about Wes just make a new thread.

It wasnt me who revived the thread though, just incase if I confused you.

Yeah, I know. That wasn't really the point, I was just saying if you want to talk about Wes make a new thread instead of posting in a dead thread that just got revived.

i was the one who revived the thread, but not with that intention, i was about to make a wes montgomery thread (and a john coltrane thread too) but i decided to search for those threads, i think that's better

It's good that you searched for threads so you don't copy something that is recent, but if it's as old as this one was you can just go ahead and make a new thread and there should be no problem.

Cheers :D
