It depends on what you are wanting to play. Ibanez is prefered by a lot of lead guitarists because they have amazing action and their sound is really distinct. You can tell when someone is playing an ibanez over a fender or gibson. Jackson is a guitar which isn't the greatest lead instrument, however as a background distortion or overdrive is a pretty good guitar, however an Ibanez can do that too. I prefer Ibanez, but a Jackson works fine too because their tone is different and can keep up with some of the best guitars out there, as long as it is used as a background, not a lead.
