I want his album incredbily badly, I just haven't been able to get it for a reasonable price anywhere. I may just have to break down and buy it, he really is incredible.

Very nice. I found out about him through that Sony commercial with the bouncing balls. They had his name on their product page and everything... more companies should do that.
I noticed he uses the same tuning on many of his songs (D A D F# B E).

He is good, but 'Veneer' is pretty boring.

The band who originally did 'heartbeats' was The Knife.

everyone's started to really hate him recently, which is probably because he's on a major label. I like him, album isnt the best i've ever heard, but some song are amazing.

i've only heard "heartbeats" so far, on the radio. that song caught my ear because it is really different from what the radio stations usually play. i think it's a truly beautiful song - i always love songs which have that kind of mood - , and so i tried to get the album in some store. it seems like they haven't released it yet here in germany, but i'm keeping my eyes open... :)

Meh.

Sums him up quite nicely in my opinion. Nothing overly special I don't think.

id say "crosses" is a close contender for best song on the album with heartbeats. "slow moves" is really nice as well

i got the album for christmas but havent listened to it for ages, havent really been in the mood. but i agree its pretty damn beautiful.

a mate of mine found a jose gonzalez EP in HMV the other day, says its pretty good but i havent had a chance to give it a listen yet.

Got the album today, it's okay (short).

I liked a few of the tracks I'd not heard before actually, the couple that follow the singles are nice.

Yeah the whole album is very good, somewhat similar through-out but it's impressive, beautiful, absorbing and well I like that sort of thing.

i kind of hate saying this because its such a clichéd indie snob thing to say...

but when it comes to 'heartbeats' am I the only one who much prefers the original?

i listened to the original after hearing josés' version and i thought it was so different, i wouldn't say i prefered (to me the two songs were almost uncompareble because of how much difference there is) it but it was really good,

Jose Gonzalez is MM-AZING. Also, I'm glad he's on a major label, means more people will be able to hear him and appreciate him. I'm glad when any of my favorite artists are signed up to the next level, its great.

It's a great song and José is an amazing songwriter.

It was written by Swedish electronica-duo The Knife. If you like electronica you should really check them out, they're great. Both song versions are great, though I do prefer Josés version.

Veneer is such an incredible album. Really looking forward to his next album. I hear it's coming out this year.

From the Sony Bravia-commercial with the bouncing balls in San Fransisco (or so I heard).

I've got his album but I found his album a bit too boring, songs being too similair and that.

Heartbeats and Hand On Your Heart are great anyway

I've heard heartbeats, wasn't it originally done by the knife? I much prefered the original so I didn't really look into his other stuff.

I got Veneer and it's a great album. Really easy listening type of music.

Favourite song would have to be Deadweight On Velveteen.

Anybody going to get his new album? Comes out in Sept. Can't wait.

Although Jose is a bit too quiet for my liking, I think Heartbeats is amongst my favourite songs ever. It's such a heartfelt song- and he's a terrific songwriter, he really is :)

I've owned the album for what must be nearly two years now, and I still listen to it very regularly.

Na, see thats what happens when you hear a track, really like it and expect the rest of the album to be the same.

If you keep listening you'll find theres a good few gems on there.
