Searching for them i was shocked to find there eere no threads on this mighty brilliant band! For anyone that hasnt heard them they have a myspace (www.myspace.com/againstme). Theyre like folk-punk and have released several albums and EP's in the last 5/6 years. I saw them in London recently and they were really, really good plus i met the drummer Warren Oakes in a pub and the singer Tom Gabel in the bar upstairs at the show and they are such lovely down-to-earth guys. Seriously go check them out, you might find one of your favouite bands ever, i know i did!

I loved it. I can't understand why so many people hate it. However, Reinventing Axl Rose is still the best.

Yeh im with you 100% there, but i did have to 'get into' Searching... more than the other two. I love it now though, especially Even at Our Worst We're Better Than Most. I think a big reason people dont like it is because it feels like theyre 'selling out' by having a vid for Dont Lose Touch. Talking to other people at the show people were moaning about the band moving to Sire and saying that Dont Lose Touch was only written for commercial purposes. I do kinda feel that Tom's songwriting has gone down a step since the earlier stuff off Crime and Ax Rose.

I can't really get into them.

The only thing I've really liked is their vivida vis demo tape.

Only two releases you need to worry about are Vivida vis and S/T. My opinion is Tom shouldve stayed with crasshole he wrote his best songs while on that label.

The Peeps... one of the best bands ever to come from Alabama.

I like Alabama Jihad more but that's only because I never saw the Peeps live.

Now members of the Peeps are in Daikaiju (surf rock gods), Against Me!, The Counterclockwise, The Pine Hill Haints and I think the Immortal Lee County Killers. They've also been in like the Crypt Kickers and several other unkown projects.

Hahahhahaha

I KNEW someone was going to mention the Peeps in this thread.
Every Against me! thread ends in us talking about how rad they were.

yeah seriously, against me threads are worthless. it always ends up with some stupid kid saying how they didnt change their sound and their not in it for the money and me yelling at them until they leave.

BTW, no one try and convince me they arent in it for the money now.

That wasnt bad. i see against me as toms band. and his very early pre- plan-it-x stuff as his solo stuff. i think the world would be a better place if that was how it was. id rather hear a thrashy acoustic ballad than a ****ty powerchord song out of him.
