yeah
i was wondering what the walk for B would be assuming e is
G|----------------------
D|----------------------
A|------2-4-5-4-2----
E|-0-4--------------4-

i dont play bass just in case you wondered why i was asking such a noob question

ya, one of the only things i learned in guitar class last semester was the 12 bar blues.

Basicaly, this is how it works

E F G A B
1 2 3 4 5

what ever your key is, would be 1, then you count out the alphabet to 5. That way you get your 4 and 5 chords.

So, if you wanted a 12 bar blues bass line, you might want to do something like this

Starting on Root E
G|------7-------|
D|---79--97-----|
A|-7--------7---|
E|------------0-|
E AB DBA E E

Notice what notes im using, except for the D, I used the 1,4, and 5 roots

Starting on Root A
G|-------------|
D|----7--5-57--|
A|--------7----|
E|-5-7---------|
A BA GEGA
Same with this one

Starting on Root B
G|----------|
D|---9--7---|
A|----7---7-|
E|-7--------|
B BE A E

and here too

so for the whole song, maybe something like....

G|------7-------|
D|---79--97-----|
A|-7--------7---|
E|------------0-|x4

G|-------------|
D|----7--5-57--|
A|--------7----|
E|-5-7---------|x2

G|------7-------|
D|---79--97-----|
A|-7--------7---|
E|------------0-|x2 (or 4)

G|----------|
D|---9--7---|
A|----7---7-|
E|-7--------|x2

G|-------------|
D|----7--5-57--|
A|--------7----|
E|-5-7---------|x2

G|------7-------|
D|---79--97-----|
A|-7--------7---|
E|------------0-|x2

the thing to keep in mind is that for 12 bar blues, is that you basically play the root, 3rd and 5th for each chord, and when you wanna walk just fool around a few times till you find some notes that feel natural.

In blues (a genre I'm finding myself writing alot in lately) the standard scale pattern (for E) is

G|-------------------------|
D|----------0-2-0----------|
A|----0-1-2-------2-1-0----|
E|0-3------------------3-0-|
So if you follow that guidline you should be able to make a walk fairly easy.
