#14. Florida
Let us be perfectly clear: We are not besmirching Florida, the strong African-American matriarch of TV's 'Good Times.' We are besmirching Florida, the Sunshine State, unholy font of the BACKSTREET BOYS, 'NSYNC, O-TOWN, LIMP BIZKIT, 2 LIVE CREW, dangling chads and an army of drum-pummeling, grizzly-bear-mimicking death-metal bands with names too "evil" (i.e., moronic) to mention.

A curse upon the balmy southern realm!

this one was my favorite.

04-27-2006, 05:13 PM
Not just 50, the whole G-Unit.

Metal Matt
04-27-2006, 05:17 PM
1 is pretty damn funny, and although I take personal offense to the comment about the army of death metal bands from florida.... I guess they might have a point.

Nearly Every Hip-Hop Videos:
We get it.

Your ride is pimped, your crib is a castle and at the drop of an ice-encrusted hat, you can have tons of scantily clad ho's pouring bottles of Cristal down your gullet while you kick it in the hot tub. Congratulations to a generation of hip-hop video directors for making decadence seem so ? boring.

I agree.

04-27-2006, 05:20 PM
I took offense to the stab at Progressive Rock in #50... and the whole Jazz Fusion thing where they complain about time sigs... That stuff isnt for the faint of heart(or uneducated, pompous dickhead writters for a lame magazine about pop music and famous people)

#1 is by far too true to ever fully appreciate though.

04-27-2006, 05:26 PM
lol, some of those are so true, but all the hip hop and rap stuff didn't deserve to be on there, thats not music, that fast talking and clapping half the time

04-29-2006, 07:48 PM
"1967: Jim Morrison ignores instructions and sings ?girl we couldn?t get much higher? live -- The Doors are never invited back to Ed Sullivan?s ?big show.? "

ive seen that footage. and Ed Sullivan's face was HILAROUS. it was this tv show about the ed sullivan show history, how many times ppl got invited back and what he did if he liked them/hated them/loved them

04-29-2006, 07:56 PM
No. 23 WOODSTOCK '99

There was a woodstock '99????

Prophet of Page
04-29-2006, 08:17 PM
Jazz Fusion.

It's a rule of thumb that any music that uses "jazz" as a prefix will make you want to saw your head off from boredom (see also: jazz funk, jazz rap, jazz house). But none is as wearying as the genre that thought what rock really needed was monthlong bass solos and time signatures even Stephen Hawking wouldn't understand.

****ing retarded, fusion pwns.

04-29-2006, 08:20 PM
Its missing something...
#1- American Idol
Or from any country, it doesn't matter they're all the same thing.

hey u think american idol is crap... try aus idol. seriously. we are a small country and we are known better for our bands (i use AC/DC as an example) and pop crap is already overrunning! although emo has kinda become the new 'pop' *shivers*

how can it be cool to slit ur wrists... i dont get it.

but comeon! relality tv shows with bad singers
next they have "Emo Idol" :wtf:

04-30-2006, 01:12 AM

05-11-2006, 03:15 AM
...and where was St. Anger?

05-11-2006, 07:34 PM
I say the AC DC revival with preps callin it the greatest band ever where they hear like back in black and dirty deads and thats it

05-11-2006, 10:06 PM
#1 is great and so true. But Sgt. Peppers?? I understand where they are coming from that Sgt.Peppers spawned a lot of crap but it also widened the music industry to accpet something totally and totally different.

05-13-2006, 02:13 PM
Why was Kurt Cobain left off that list?

05-13-2006, 02:16 PM
No. 23 WOODSTOCK '99

There was a woodstock '99????

yes, '69, '94, and '99

05-13-2006, 02:21 PM
'why was kurt cobain left off that list'

what his death or him in genral?!

05-13-2006, 02:33 PM
C-H-A-Vs. Ruined the British music industry.

05-13-2006, 04:22 PM
There was only a small amount of that list that was funny AND correct. The majority of it was just bull****, though.

05-13-2006, 04:34 PM
yes, '69, '94, and '99

and in 99 there was the entire riots thing (way expensive tickets, way hot and ever more expensive food and water). RHCP was playing towards the end of it and candles were handed out to the crowd for Under the Bridge but they used them to start bonfires and things escalated way on from there... and generally riots and ****, a very bad scence

05-13-2006, 06:44 PM
'why was kurt cobain left off that list'

what his death or him in genral?!
Read my sig and take a guess.

05-13-2006, 07:19 PM

05-13-2006, 09:30 PM

05-14-2006, 06:03 AM
Blender is crap...

After seeing this list I couldn't agree more

05-14-2006, 01:58 PM
Thats a horrible list. However Number 1 is spot on

05-14-2006, 05:39 PM
wheres emo and poppunk?

and kurt cobain.

05-14-2006, 05:44 PM
one word........

05-14-2006, 09:19 PM
I think magazines such as Blender, Spin, and the worst, Rolling Stone are the worst things to have happen to the music scene.

05-14-2006, 09:32 PM
I'd say the worst thing to happen to music is lists about music that make everyone argue.

05-15-2006, 08:46 AM

05-17-2006, 07:40 PM
#13 so funny but so true

05-19-2006, 04:24 PM
mark david chapman should a lot higher (probably first) than no. 24

05-19-2006, 06:32 PM
I think the worst thing to happen to music is the selling of wax tumblers of recorded material!

Back in my day, we wouldst gather around the Pianissimo, and play the newest sheet music!

05-20-2006, 04:58 PM
That list is pretty bad. Even though I like some Nirvana and Johnny, Kurt killing the solo along with the Ramones should really be on that list.

05-22-2006, 06:10 PM
How about Michael Bolton?

05-24-2006, 01:04 AM
the worst thing to happen to music is nu metal, pretty much everything on charts especially filth that is generated from mobile phones and peple with computers with completly no talent or musical creativity whatsoever. utter disgust
