Rory Gallagher, Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers, Clapton has some decent slide songs especially on Sessions for Robert J., Johnny Winter, not sure if its Allen Collins of Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and if u like the delta blues then listen to Elmore James and Son House.

Ry cooder was a great slide player, as was Chris Rea.

Ry Cooder is one of the best slide players I have ever heard. Blind Willie Johnson is the king of the slide I say though.

False.

Anywho... the young great player right now is Derek Trucks. Warren Haynes (plays with Derek in the Allman Bros) is the closest emulation to the deceased Duane Allman. Both are fantastic, and Trucks has a style all his own.

Thorogood is good for dirty, dirty, raw, good blues.

Anybody else mentioned is good as well.

ANYONE who has been in The Allman Brothers can play great slide guitar - well, just great slide guitar in general.

Trucks is ****ing amazing. He's been a HUGE inspiration to me; not only through his music, but because he's so young and so damn good.

As ~AdNY said, "Hail to the Kings"

Ok, maybe there were a few "temporaries" that weren't quite as good as these guys who played with the band for a short time.

Jack is a great slider man. Haven't you ever seen him improvise it? Like before they play Death Letter on their concert DVD he improvises and it's awesome. I enjoy his slide work, that's all I can really say.
