Meshuggah is decent. I heard some guy threw up in the concert, cause of the high volume and low frequencies or something...

You could ask these thing in random shred chat thread, y'know?

^but you know even if the volume is high fredrik is a clean jazz influenced guitarist.

Can't say I've ever heard Meshuggah. The only expirience I've had with them came in the form of a jam session with some friends. My friend brought some kid over (a drummer) to play with us. He claimed he was heavily influenced by Meshuggah, and that was the style he wanted to play.

Long story short.. the kid couldnt hold down a f*cking beat and insisted on playing odd-time signatures. Since he claimed that Meshuggah was his main influence, I just naturally hate them now

That's pretty kinky. Seriously though, stop making threads about every ****ing guitarist under the sun.

how could you not love a band that do this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6668271242366126796&q=meshuggah&pl=true

Other than that I don't seem to know of any songs that show any amazing shredding type stuff, just odd solo. And more ****ed up time signatures than you could imagine

I love Meshuggah, but I wouldn't say that fredrik is a shredder

I think Thordendal's music is brilliant. He has a solo album called "Sol Niger Within", no idea what the name means, but to me it sounds amazing.

Why? It's absolutly brilliant! the math, the control, burning hatred flawlessly harnessed with math oh my!
never make a judgment about a band if you have not heard the group's masterpiece. which in this case is "I" or the the 47 minute long song that is catch 33

/\ Does he do any vocals on it, I think he sang on one of the Meshuggah albums between destroy erase improve and catch 33
