7/10? my current rig got a better score than that.
No worries man.

^ :haha

let's see what i get.
I'd give it a 8.5/10 Would have been hella close to perfect if I didn't notice the Crate. I had bad experiences with that model.

^ ha thanks, but it's not so close to perfect. need a tele and a mark IV to complete it.

i wouldn't say i've had a bad experience with the crate, besides it sounding shitty in general. but i surely do regret getting it

8.5/10 for you, since i'm not so familiar with agiles.
but, the gemini I might bring it to a 9 :)

lol. I love your setup right now. Only thing it would be missing if I had it was a strat. Thanks for the 8.5 on mine man. I'm not one to go through the whole Agile defense thing but this thing plays alot better then any other LP I've played. It's the nut width and jumbo frets that do it for me I guess. The Gemini is the sex though. Can't get enough of that baby.

^I hate when people don't rate your gear. But hey dude your gear is awesome 10/10

My gear:

Guitars:
1998 Gibson Les Paul Studio with a Swineshead Runaway in the bridge.
80's Fender Japan Stratocaster

Pedals:
Affectronix Brit Master: Rangemaster clone made by Call1800KMYAZZ for me. Has a full/ treble boost switch and a germanium/ transistor switch.
True bypass Modded Vox V847
Russian Electro Harmonix Big Muff

Amps:
2007 Orange Rocker 30 combo

 to the threadstarter, I have a peavey with a Kahler floyd. I love that guitar (though I can't use the trem yet, broken.)

Gabel gets 10/10, because he bought from kerry. His stuff is awesome.

I also love your Jap strat.

I've got at the moment:

Peavey Falcon (guitar with the Kahler. came stock like that, and I love this beast)
Ibanez SB70 (sounds shit but plays like butter. In need of fretwork, neck refinish, and new saddle).

Amps:
Peavey Century:
100w solid state amp with parametric mids. Sounds thin and awful without my new pedal through it.

Peavey 30w something or other (reverb sucks, but is analog).
Cool distortion and outrageous versatility.

Pignose 7-100.
Best tone ever. Would be great with a speaker cabinet. Sometimes I run it through my large amp for improved tone.

Pedals
Crybaby (2)
A good wah, It's not one of those new ones. these are vintagey

Marshall ED-1 The Compressor
Fairly new, but totally excellent. Great for clean solos (yeah, right) and country.

Affectronix Pink Verb
Excellent, simple Overdrive/Reverb circuit. I swear, I could just run this, a tube power amp, and an EQ. Not so great for metal, Its response is suited to more classic rock/hard rock. Not to mention it's got almost untameable mids (a great thing).

ProCo Turbo RAT
Pretty good for classic metal Rhythm and solos (well, maybe not quite rhythm, that needs a little more gain)

DOD FX 75b Flanger. Great flange.

EDIT: Mexican shred, you get an 11/10, because your gear goes to 11. That ought to make up for noone rating yours.

(guy above beat me to it)
im going to go ahead and give you a 9/10, the rg sinches it ;)

It would be a 10 but i cant quite figure out if thats "tim" from the holy grail in your avatar, if so consider it a 10.

And for Renold an 8, cant go wrong with a strat and a vox
Im expecting no more than a 5 for mine but hell,

Ibanez Iceman
Vintage (british brand, amazing guitars) Les Paul
Boss me-50
and to get that -300 points a Marshall mg100 halfstack

the arisen

6/10 :P Good enough gear in general, but I still dont like the MG halfstack...Vintage do do good cheap guitars though.

Let me truck this list out.

Guitars:

Ibanez JEM7DBK with EMG81/SA/85 set at 18V (main)
Jackson Fusion Pro with Fernandes sustainer/Hot Rails/Tone Zone (backup + some leads which require sustainer)
K.Yairi handmade acoustic

2x custom shop 7 strings on order and near completion:

7 string superstrat with EMG 81-7/707 at 18V, string thru, mahogany/maple neckthrough etc.

7 string Stealth (based on the BC Rich design) with Bareknuckle Warpig 7/Nailbomb 7, in walnut/maple neckthru. Ibanez ZR-7 trem, custom resonance tuning system.

Amps and gear:

Boss GT-8 -> Crate Powerblock -> 2x12 (acting as monitor). GT8 outs are split and go straight to the board.

Well, thats one of the rigs... the other one's a tad more complex:

Morley wah
Phase 90
Custom SLO Preamp (based on the SLO, except with a dedicated rhythm channel)
2x15 MXR EQ
TC G-Major
ISP Decimator ProRack-G Stereo
BBE 482i Sonic Maximiser
Custom 100/100 EL34 poweramp
2x 4x12 cabs.

The other stuff:

Custom Trainwreck Express clone with 4x10 cab.
Custom 60W High Gain (ENGL based) head with 1x12 cab.

Used to own a strat, don't any more as I don't really need it (no longer doing session stuff) and am downsizing in terms of guitars (5 is enough, right? acoustic for my own stuff, 2 6s and 2 7s).

Rich? well I'm reasonably well off (electrical engineer) and have built or otherwise modified a lot of my own gear (everything with "custom" in the name is done by me).

I'll give you a 7/10 - the JJ Labs is a nice tube combo, and the old MIJ Strats are great guitars - better than nowadays's USA production line IMO.

When it's time to get a new amp, I'm actually looking at a DSL halfstack. What'd do you guys think? A JCM is like a $1000 more, and it only has one channel. Can't deal with that.

7/10 guitars good, i quite like marshall valvestates but not that much...

Btw, just incase you're misinformed here, a squier strat is a squier strat, not a "Fender 'Squier' Strat". They are a different brand, squier are just owned by fender. If you had a Gretsch (also owned by fender) would you call it a Fender 'Gretsch' White Falcon? I'm not saying they are bad guitars like most people would though.

rockonwsnyou: Hard to rate, I'd be using a valve amp myself, but definitely points on the XT Live :) EMG's rock, points for that :) I'd say a good 6.5 (but each to their own and if it suits you, then thats a good thing :))

well, the only two whammy/pitchshifters are the Digitech Whammy and the Boss PS-5. The Whammy is way better. I think you should get a better delay first. Lol yeah, guitar **** is dead expensive especially since everything is marked up like 200% in Australia.

To the person above 3/10.

I hate MG amplifiers but you have an Epiphone and they are good (the higher end ones anyway like mine) Squires are very average as are DS-1 distortions. THe wah is good though. You need to improve amp drastically and work very much on your pedalboard

I've always wanted a strat, your's sounds pretty straight. Obviously the mid boost boosts the mids, but how would you describe it makes it sound after you engage it? That Martin sounds pretty sweet too, I still have yet to pick up an acoustic. What mods did you do to the pedals?

My Rig-
Ibanez Universe UV-777BK (B-DiMarzio Evolution)

um... well my guitar nails a wide range of tone. it gets enough bite from the hot noiseless pickups, and the mid boost makes it from single coil to >>> P90s to >>> humbuckers. it's pretty cool. My Martin was "THE" Martin at my local Guitar Center. it was the best sounding Martin on the wall of Martins there. i played every single one, and that was the one. my Crybaby has a new vocal resistor, mid boost, fasel inductor, .022uF sweep cap, and lowered input resistor. on my TubeScreamer, i did the TS808 mod, and the more bass mod. now i play it with the tone maxed, and it still sound really punchy.

Dinky is sweet. B.C. Rich + Kerry King designed = awesome (even for a starter kit that guitar rocks) once you get the randall you'll be 9/10, but now you're just 7/10

DMC ground control

rig revolves around the ground control and system mix switching system
On mix one of the DMC system mix are the dry sounds of a marshall 30th anniversary head, digitech 2120 and marshall 9000 series pre-amp which rarely gets used. In the effects loop of the marshall head and the marshall 9000 preamp is a drawmer DS201 noise gate. This dry mix gets sent to a marshall 20/20 preamp and a 2X12 marshall cab which is ancient and i have no idea what model it is.

Mix 2 of the system mix comprises of the effects from the digitech 2120 mainly and a zoom studio 1204. The entire mix is then sent to a marshall 9200 poweramp and into 2 4X12 marshall cabs in stereo.

Other bits... The marshall head has its own 4x12 marshall with vintage 30's and its channels can be switched via midi controls from the ground control pedal. The rack is powered by a furman power conditioner and there is a BBE sonic maximizer optionally activated using one of the switching system loops.

I think thats about it other than a few more bits to link it all together.
