Hi

I hope this is the most appropriate place for this thread and that it is not too silly for this forum......

My mate at work says that all good bands come from the north and he also says the best thing to come out of London is Chas and Dave!!!!

Please help me compile a list of great bands past and present but if they are from the past they should be Great Bands.

I am thinking he might have a point but I dont want to go down without a fight.

Please help!

Thanks

RockinAlfie

Do you mean bands that originated or just played the circuit in London?

EDIT:Sorry for my stupidity, lack of sleep hinders my thinking abilities.

Well...we can't help you think of bands from London. Not even the most brilliant person alive could help you think of bands. We could certainly tell or inform you of bands from London, but not help you think of them. ;)

Yeah, I know. I'm being a smartass. Tis my nature :)

OK, so we have got The Who (partly maybe) and The Clash and The Metro Riots (I think).

Thats a start anyway...

Do you know that all this insperation and motivation from others around has only gone and helped me THINK of one. I havent actually thought of one yet but the thought of other people across the world all THINKING is definately helping me THINK because if nobody put any replies here I wouldn't have even bothered and wouldn't be THINKING right now.

There are only 4 shows on TV that I watch: South Park, The Simpsons, Futurama, and Family Guy. :)

I'm getting the feeling that this was aimed at me based on the emphasis on the word 'think' because of my smartass remark. Let me clearify why I am right and you are wrong:

We, as seperate individuals, are physically, psychologically, and scientifically incapable of helping you "think" of anything. This is because we, as seperate individuals, do not share your mind nor can we(most of us anyway) pick up on your brainwaves nor can we read your thoughts or grasp your hold on reality. Our brains and minds are seperate entities from yours and can thus not be involved in your thinking process or logic functions. So, I say again: we can certainly inform you with information, but we, under no circumstances, can help you actually "think" of anything because of the fact that none of our minds are connected with yours :) <----Please note the smiley face. It informs to the reader that there was a friendly tone within the message so as to it not be taken in offensive nature.

It amuses me how often you need to put this little reminder at the end of your posts.

"Music made in, about, or influenced by the English city of London, and the people who made it."

So basically, anyone whos played in Londons seems to be on that list....

Well you see, I learned a long long time ago that if I didn't place that wonderful reminder at the end of my posts, someone might actually think I care about what is going on and get all serious and wind up making a fool of him/herself with feeble attempts at burning me and whatnot only to find that I don't care. So, to help them understand that I don't take the matter seriously, I must remind them that I wasn't flaming them, only having a bit o' fun with them. :)
