Guitar into a custom made Pedalboard Junction A/B box....

A: to Planet Waves Chromatic Pedal Tuner
B: Morley Tremonti power wah, Keeley Modded Boss SD-1, ISP Noise Decimator....

All wired through with planet waves cables, and powered by a Morley 9V adapter, split with two daisy chains!

Works great, and does everything I need! The pedalboard was $70 at my store....definitely reliable, well built, and closes up into a case for easy transport!

Oh...and the RECTO FOOTSWITCH!

sometimes i switch the order up and add pedals here and there but thats usually it. i really like to create a wall of sound, a real atmosphere when i play, especially with my clean channels. weird sounds are also a plus

How do you like the tuner? I just ordered it off Musician's Friend 2 days ago, it should come tomorrow.

i like it simple. so i have a Zoom GFX-1. not only is it reliable and tough as a brick, it has so many options. pretty much the equivalent of a boss multi-fx, minus the cost of a boss. ok well boss has a few more options, but i do like it simple. planning on getting a wah soon, i hope to see wahs mentioned here as ive only ever used a crybaby, it was like 20 years old, and i dont know a damn about any other brand

The tuner is great! Amazing for the money....very accurate, and not jumpy at all, like most other digital tuners...very steady tuning!

You have an A/B box, Ibanez? What do you use it on? As for my rig, all I really have is a DL-4 and an OD-20. I love both, but I hope to get rid of the OD-20 once I buy my Orange stack. Here's what I plan on adding in the future:
Line 6 FM-4
Boss CE-5
Ibanez Turbo Tubescreamer
Boss BF-3
Big Muff
Line 6 MM-4
EHX Holy Grail Reverb
BBE Sonic Stomp
Boss DD-3
Boss DD-6
Digitech Whammy
Boss PH-5
Boss TR-2
Ibanez AD-9
ISP Noise Decimator

I want pretty much any effect imaginable. If there's one thing I consider more important in my rig next to my amp, it's my pedals. Pedals can do so much to your sound (other than suck the tone =P).

Cables are (now) all PlanetWaves, minus the footswitch cable.

Signal goes through from a Nady UHF-3 Wireless Guitar system to a Digitech RP200A Multi-FX unit. Signal then passes to a Morley Power Wah/Volume, to a Digitech Synth Wah, Digitech Grunge Pedal, Boss Compression Sustainer, and an iSP Decimator into a Crate VFX5212 w/ a Mesa/Boogie Recto Std. Slant 4x12 cabinet for an ext. cab.

All stompboxes powered by a OneSpot powersupply w/ daisy chain and RP is powered by the stock power-supply provided by Digitech.

plus i need to get a pic of the EX7 Expression pedal.

the signal flow goes like this, guitar---Fender PT100---Digitech EX7---Dunlop CFH Wah---Boss SD1---Ibanez CF7---front of amp. (start loop)---Boss TR2---Boss PH3---Boss DD6---(end loop).

My old setup when I thought I needed all those pedals for a wide array of sounds. But not all i use is the OD infront of my JCM900.

And in the FX Loop Ive got: a Peavey 31 band rackmount EQ, the little tuner pedal (which totally rules btw lol), the delay pedal, and sometimes the chorus pedal.

I don't need anything else. :)

[edit] except the AB/Y switch that I use to switch between my two amps. One for that classic marshall hard rock sound (JCM900) and one for more of a modern Recto sound (GT500H) *refer to the clips on UG's dmusic for samples on both*

EDIT: Its now Big Muff, small clone, MXR Distortion+, Crybaby 535Q, Line 6 Echo park

Also, anyone have an opinion on the FNCs? Ive heards its good and its really cheap.

Not much of a pedalboard, but it's all I need (maybe also a noise suppressor).

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a322/Cadd99/My%20Guitar/DSCN2275.jpg

Planet Waves Pedal Tuner -> Crybaby Classic Wah -> Boss SD-1 -> Boss CE-2B -> Line 6 DL-4

Also: Small surge protector, Onespot adapter w/ daisy chain, Line 6 power adapter.

I needed a 1.5 foot cable and a 3 foot cable, so I had to buy 2 right angle cables and use a crappy non-functional cable to make them. Soldering is a pain in the ass.

I keep the one at the end for just a little gritt, more to fatten up everything, I rarely turn it off.

The other one is when I want to push it hard.

I dont have it down to science yet and I'm always tweaking. Up until now I had them next to each other, Im trying one at the end of the chain to see how it works.

I love the one above where the guy labelled his Digitech Whammy pedal with "Whammy" even though it already has a huge "DIGITECH WHAMMY" logo right above it. LOL.

Here's my pedal board:

http://s93423559.onlinehome.us/pedal_board/7.jpg

It's a homemade pedal board with an ATA case.

Guitar --> Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner --> Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Multi-Wah --> MXR Phase 90 --> Mesa Boogie DC-5 (1x12" all-tube combo amp)

Effects loop send --> MXR 10 Band EQ --> Effects loop return

And there's also the channel switcher on there too.

I found the sound to be too "in-your-face" in the effects loop, which I don't really like in a phaser. That's why I got the Phase 90 (as opposed to the Boss phaser), because it's a little more mellow sounding.

on a lot of amps you can adjust how much goes through you effects loop. Like a Wet and Dry dial...i can on my JCM900 anyways...

At the time this pic was taken my signal goes into a Boss TU-2 Tuner > Teese Real McCoy Picture Wah wit Foxrox retrofot for use w/ fuzz > Analogman NTK 275 Sunface > MXR EVH Phase 90 > Lovepedal COT 50 > PedalWorx TTP > Lovepedal Eternity > Keely Java Boost w/ NOS Mullards > Lovepedal Eternity X2 gain pot > Analogman TS-808 w/ Brown mod > Lovepedal Balance > Analogman Mini Bi-Comp > Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor > MojoVibe w/ EV5 expression pedal > Anaogman Close Chourus > Boss BF-3 Flanger > Guyatone MD3 delay > Boss DD-6 modded by Analog Mike w/ high cut mod.

I have upgraded many of the lower quality stomps with boutiques since this oic was taken. I am now in the process of trying to gat my board down to about half this size. I didn't list all of the E-H stomps I have although they are some of my favorites, just too big a footprint to put on a board. :(

As it stands right now my current board including all of the custom cableing cost me $4,800. American. I am still working on the final setup which should only have 12 to 14 instead of the cureent 18. Under the second riser are two power padeal2's that suppley power to all but two stopms pictured.

Blinded I actually have three amps total. The Twin you see in the pic has been modded by VooDoo Amps and has been modded so the clean channel is Blackfaced and the Dirty "Plexified". The output transformer has been reverse engineered from an origional 68 Plexi. It also has Vintage 30's in it. Fantastic cleans and nice dirt this amp is f*ckin sweet.

Edit: And this Twin is seriously LOUD, you don't have to have a stack to rock the house. Unless you're gigging over 500 with no house support, this amp has more than enough balls. ;)

I also have a Blonde Blues Jr. that I swapped out the origional sh1tty Eminence speaker for a "Manstyle" Celestion Heritage G12H 30watt 12". World of difference, no longer sterile. Just rich creamy goodness. Very responsive to pick attack. Master volume is great for home use.

I use a Line6 2x10 w/ headphones for when my wife is sleeping also. :(

CyBerAliEn

Wow Molsons Golden... that's about the best pedalboard pic I've seen yet here at UG, lol...

Hmm... I've never really bothered to do an actual "pedal board", usually I only need/use one effect if I play anywhere, in which case I just throw it into the rack, lol... But the closest I've ever come to a pedal board is the pic in my sig (I know, it really isn't a pedal board, it's sad really lol).

Mainly I use effects/pedals for practicing and just random doodling and records and such. Some I run in front of the amp, and others I run through the effects loop. If were to hook up all my effects, my signal chain would be something like...

Guitar >>>
> DigiTech XP-100 Whammy Wah >
> Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah >
> Boss Super Octave OC3 >
> DigiTech Death Metal >
> Mesa Recto Pre (rack;preamp) >
... thru effects loop ...
> Boss Flanger BF3 >
> Boss Phase Shifter PH3 >
> Boss Chorus Ensemble CE5 >
> Boss Digital Delay DD5 >
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
> Lexicon MPX1 (rack;effects) (mainly use for reverbs) >
> Alesis 3630 (rack;compression) >
> Mesa Recto 2:100 (rack;poweramp) >
> Mesa Recto 2x12 >
> Sound (lol)

*Effects are bolded.

EDIT...In retrospect, I feel like I wasted a lot of time formatting all that. :(

great pedal boards guys

im making a pedal board, im not sure of the size yet

i have a digitech distortion, crybaby wah and want to get a few more pedals

as for power, im making my power supply when the parts come in monday afternoon

Im planning on using 1/2" plywood for the bottom with velcro all over it and 1/4" plywood for the tops and sides...the cover will have 4 latches ...one on each side, flip all latches and the top will lift right off....no hinges...just get the part out of the way.

if i have the time i may made it out of metal...i have not used my welder in quite some time now and could use the practice....may be a bit heavy but aluminum would be good.

I don't use any onboard distortion, all of it comes from my 2 overdrive pedals. I also took the power adapter off the pedalboard to stop the hum and free up more space.

Guitar -----<split to> Morley Bad Horsie Wah & Boss TU-2 Tuner
Wah -->Boss MT-2 Metal Zone (modded, tvonmac)----->Amp

FX Loop
Send ---->Little Alligator Volume--->Boss DD-3 Delay--->BF-3 Flanger---> CE-5 Chorus Ensemble (mono out) --->Return

...and of course the footswitch for swtiching my amp channels.

I use the metal zone as more of an overdrive. It seems like a waste, I know, but the mods give it a much warmer sound, and with the distorion at 0, and Level at 10 it actually gives a pretty sweet sounding overdrive.

Current Pedalboard...old pic

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f117/twostring/TestFit.jpg

All of the stuff in the pic is for sale except for the tube screamer and the case. Also, my amp is for sale (Fender HRD)...all of the proceeds go to the nearest mesa dealer so I can go home with a Roadster or Road King (haven't decided if the extra features on the RK are worth the hassle now that I've heard Ibanez's EL-34 Recto clips).

The new pedalboard will most likely include an Xotic BB Preamp, Dunlop 535Q wah, Boss Giga-Delay, Demeter Tremulator, Digitech Whammy and a chorus pedal of some sort (haven't decided which one yet).

Anyone want to buy any of my stuff?

Orange Rocker 30 ----- Fulltone OCD ---- EHX Holy Grail ---- Fender PT-10 (not 100, an old $40 pedal tuner I picked up randomly one day and I still use it. It's great) ---- Gibson SG Standard. And of course the Orange footswitch is plugged into the back of the amp.

Weeping Demon Wah, Boss TU-2 Tuner, Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble, Digitech DF-7 Distortion, and a ZOOM 707II multi-effects pedal.

I only use the WD-7, TU-2 and CE-5. I don't need the DF-7, since my JSX has plenty enough gain, and it wouldn;t sound great anyways, and the ZOOM like to take my tone away, and it's way to hard to set up.

played around with it. nice to have them all together. more ooptiosn for me. or..more flavor. what i did was this...all my amp modellers and chorus, flange, delays, etc, excep distortions ar eon the gt8. the rest will be options on my board. example. since the gt8 jas ext effects loop. the other keeley on top will be in the ext effects loop along with a nother drive pedal and a dod grunge. but its just my thing.

the first level as youc an see is sort of my vai setup. the gt8 being vais controller on his board( coz i cant affor his rig at the moment). the second layer where the rat and the arion is is just connected to the same chain, the gt8 being the last. other peds are to be installed as well.

WTF...

If you get bored with some of them, pretty much send it my way lol. Where the fuck do you buy your pedals?

hahaha. will do sir. the GT8, keeleys, morleys, and the sd2 from CA then shipped and hand carried to the phils. the other peds, dated back to when they came out orignally. like the whammy. my friend got it here locally when it came out for 230 bucks. he sold it for 40. the other, from some friends and friends of friends.

Whoa, lots of big pedalboards on this thread, especially mountain dew and turiguiliano, you guys must have alot of money...

My "pedalboard" is consisting right now of a Digitech RP50 and a Proel PVP16L Vol/Exp pedal, and I'm gonna be getting an Ibanez PH7 soon. (I got all my pedals from a small shop, that do really good deals, they're gonna get $60 off the PH7)

I'm also intending to get a cheap Tremolo pedal, that will just do the job, any suggestions would be good.

Anyway, once I've got my pedals and have made the board, I'll post some pics

well i got the CFH way before they even announced the EX7. i tried the wah models from the EX7 but im too used to the "deep" setting on my CFH. if i didnt have it, the EX7 would be good enough. but i really got it for the XP400 model and Whammy, although i do use the Uni-Vibe setting a little bit to get a "Zakk Wylde"-ish tone. all in all an excellent buy. the XP-400 are rare so to have this alone for $200 are great, plus the whammy functions that i'll actually use (i hate the whammy cuz its got all these things i'd never use, just need 1 oct ^, 2 oct ^, 1 octV/1 oct ^).

Yes, i thought of the whole "false floor" thing and its really handy for keeping all the cables and power cords out of the way...you just drill through wherever you need a cable and the top floor comes completely off to help configure all the cables neatly.

My pedalboard sucks atm, but by my birthday, it'll have a Danelectro Fab Echo and Distortion (Or Metal if the guy has it :P) and a Marshall footswitch (The one which changes channel, and can turn FX on/off). I also play to get an EQ pedal sometime.

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/6337/pedalboardpngpm1.jpg

I was gonna get a Boss DS-1 and DD-3, but I'm gonna get the Delay some other time, and I'm hoping to get the Fab Metal as I loved it when I had it (until it clapped outt :(), although it'll proabably be the distortion.

how do the daisychians sound? i am thinking of making a pedalboard, and would like a cheapo alternative to DC boxes. do they create noise?

thx.

for the record, i own 2 crybabies(50$ and 25$, in order i bought them at flea market), an OS-2, to date the ONLY pedal i have bought new(80$), a Turbo R.A.T. (10$ at Garage Center), a DoD Stereo Flanger(22$ at a Flea market), DoD Supra Distortion(1$,doesn't work lol) Marshall ED-2 Compressor (a steal in like almost new at 40$) and an MIA ernie ball Volume pedal(30$, also fleamarket). total cost: 253$.

soon to come: Daisychain(s), a board.

i also happen to have a BITCHIN powerstrip, it's all metal, and can be screwed down (no tape here)

I just went through a major pedalboard simplification phase - I sold two pedals to raise funds for a JEM7V. My full pedal rig used to be a Boss DS-2, Rocktron Silver Dragon, Crybaby Wah, Boss BF-3, and Boss DD-6. I got rid of the DS-2 because my Silver Dragon is way better and the DS-2 is kind of crap anyway, and the Crybaby because it was just crap. I'm planning to buy a Morley wah and MXR EQ sometime soon, just to round things out.

Guitar --> Boss TU-2 Pedal Tuner --> Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah --> Peavey JSX

Send --> Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble --> Boss BF-3 Flanger --> Boss GE-7 Equalizer --> Return

Edit: My apologies for the blurriness. I don't have a steady camera hand.

Its the EX-7 with the FS3X Footswitch connected to The Weapon stompbox. These three are all made by Digitech. I also have a Korg tuner there and I found an old Xbox Microphone from some karaoke kit for xbox that I found for 3 dollars at Blockbuster. The mic is pretty sweet because you can put it in the guitar jack and have your voice go through your amp. Then you can use a pitch shifter or something and it sounds really awsome. The 2 main pedals, the Ex-7 and the weapon, can pretty much make any sound I want. The EX-7 is based off of many other effects and it doesn't sound the exact same as the original, but I don't care.

Is there anything I could put over the second switch of the delay, though. It says "long short", but I don't know what it does. It's weird. I just want to not press it when I turn the pedal on.

Okay guys. I have a quick question for you.

How much would the reading of my tuner be off if I went:

Guitar --> Ibanez Weeping Demon --> Boss Tuner --> Danelectro Delay --> Amp?

I have to have my delay in the main chain, as well. It doesn't fulfill it's sound in the effects loop. It has no, well, delay there. So it's in my main guitar chain. I don't have long enough connector cords to reach tuner, to other side of wah, to other side of delay. (if you follow me)

I'm just wondering if it would read bad or not.

I just refurbished my dad's old Phase 100. It's so old, it doen't have an LED, but it is a great phaser, and I'll probably mod an LED in soon...

I'll post a pic of my whole rig with Phase 100 later...

I have a RMC Picture Wah myself. I've had mine about three years now and haven't looked at any since I bought it. I tried Vox's & Buddas too but for me it is only one of two pedals that I would have a hard time upgrading.

The other would be my LovePedal Eternity Overdrives. I can't live with out them, two on my board and one for traveling/spare.

Oh and my RC Booster, if you play Fender guitars the RC is awsome as a quick adjusting EQ. It is also good for boosting your signal through a long chain of pedals. You can even add a very mild OD. I leave mine on all the time to even out my tone, no OD, just a signal boost and taking out some of the chime.

Edit: I guess that is three.

My current pedalboard is an old computer stand, turned upside down. My signal usually goes:

Guitar >
Digitech Synth Wah >
E-H Metal Muff w/Top Boost >
Boss DS-1 >
Digitech Bad Monkey OD >
Fender PT-10 >
Vox AD15VT w/two button footswitch

Enough for now. I'd like a nice delay sometime, but it's all good. Love that Metal Muff, though, it's frightfully versatile, and the top boost is nucking futs.

Hey guys ive seen some killer gear on here and some great ideas for some boards. I need a suggestion for the small amount of gear ive got. From my epiphone les paul std. I have a boss GT-8 processor and am acquiring a boss rc-20 xl loop pedal. A couple questions...

1. Should I get a tuner pedal to act as a power source (say, a boss TU-2?)
2. Any suggestions on a pre-fab case that would fit and protect the listed gear or
3. Is it easier to just make something with some plywood, velcroe, and power source

Any input is greatly appreciated, either about gear or setups. Thanks.

1. no, complaints that its usually pretty noisy.
2. no idea
3. usually it is.

i haven't seen many compressors here, any of you guys use a 'always on' compressor? been thinking of fitting a comp or OD into my chain (rmc wah1 > MJM brit bender > NOC3 BC108 fuzz > OCD >lu20 tuner > [*soon* stereo memory man*]. currently considering getting an open sounding OD too, along the lines of a catalinbread silver kiss and maybe a cs-3/dynacomp. or a barber tone press and a unmodded SD-1.

and master_plan, what mod is done on your SD-1? how does it compare to a stock piece?

There she is...I switch between the Ubermetal and Metal Muff every once in a while.
I have additional pedals as well that I dont use either because I need a large board or I just dont like them.

DS-1 Distortion
Digitech Badder Monkey
Ibanez TS-808 RI

First I know the wah is at the end of the chain, and most every puts them in front...im just messing around with all the pedals in different positions, and thats just how I had it... Also if your wondering why the wah is on the left side...im left footed

also ignore the hairy foot haha. And yes I plan on getting some new pedals soon :P
and maybe some velcro to cover the entire surfaces, it would look nice and be effective...

but its still a work in process

Its basically a ts-808, Analogman changed everything into a ts-808, its clearer and bigger.

Yeah its spelt 'Feedbacker'.
Also, making your own pedalboard isn't hard, mine is just old wood that my dad found in our garage, and like, $10 of velcro.

What sorta guitar is that? Looks like a cross between a telecaster and Yamaha AES

sonixon

It's actually my buddy's squier telecastor (some weird series or something I guess). I had to borrow is cause my Godin EMG smashed on the ground during warm up.

I bought a schecter omen-6 and put the emg's into it though, and it's basically a 1000 dollar guitar again.

Breakdown of my pedal board:
-case is an old gun case that my dad was going to throw out and I saved it and
converted it over
-(moving right to left) 1st pedal is an tuner (can't remember the brand)
-Mesa Boogie V-Twin distortion pedal, this thing is awesome and has as 12Ax7 tone
tube in it. Scored off of ebay for very little $$$.
-Digitech XP Space Station I scored at a pawn shop. This can be used as a tuner/volume pedal along with over 50 synth effects
-Boss tremelo pedal
-80s Ibanez Swell flanger, which I often use as a chorus by turning down the d-time and reign
-Boss DD5 Dealy pedal
-Boss Volume pedal
