i just got his album white hot blues. i like what i hear. what's some other stuff to check out?

way better than edgar in terms of consistency i think. edgar had some GREAT songs like tobacco road, frankenstein and free ride...but then everythign else i ve heard sucks.

I've heard Captured Live! and it's great. It's a live album but I recommend it.

I own his self-titled album. Very, very good stuff. Highly recommended.

I have Scorchin' Blues and it's great. I saw him live a few months ago, and though he may only be 60 he looks like hes 90, probably from all the drugs and alcohol. But man, he can still play, that's for sure.

i actually totally take back what i said about edgar winter. he's got some good stuff on his roadwork album, and "they only come out at night"

and many i think i'm going to see johnny in december. he's amazing!

I have a lot of his albums.

He's one of my favorite guitarists.

That man can still play his ass off, it's amazing, he behaves like he's just turned 25, and he's 60.
Chorchin' blues is probably the best album.

Does anyone know if he's started playing again?

From what I understand, one day he just put his guitar down and stopped.

My lead singer is a huge Johnny Winter fan, he sees him whenever he comes around. Last gig he went to was in the winter at some point.

I like some of his stuff, but sometimes the tone isn't my thing.

Yeah my dad went to see him in June, he said it was decent, but he also saw him four or five times back in his heyday and it's nowhere near as good as back then. He doesn't play rock songs anymore, it's all blues, and he needed help onstage because he's so old and frail.

True, but did Alex see him live, or is he just saying that?
