Nowhere. Serial numbers do not identify the model. However this might help (http://ibanezrules.com/catalogs/reference/dating.htm), and post a pic, we'll tell you the model. ;)

also try looking through the catalogs on that site: http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/index.htm

Thanks to that site, I'm pretty sure my guitar is a 1990 EX140... and its time for a new one.

An RG body, HSH pickups, "Ibanez" written on the size of the tremolo, two control cavities on the back (bridge and controls), and no pickguard is an RG470 with a Lo-TRS II bridge. Same thing with pickguard and one control cavity makes an RG450 with a Lo-TRS II. What are the details on yours?

F99 means that it was made in 1999 in Japan, I believe.

well if you think an rg450 sucks then youd think a rg470 sucks as well, there pretty much exactly the same anyway.

The difference between RG470 and RG450 is that 470 has no pickguard, but 450 does have one.

The actual guitars don't suck granted that they are of japanese assembly, but the tremolo (Lo-TRS II) on them is quite possibly the worst Floyd Rose clone ever conceived by mankind. You can, however, swap it to a better bridge.

Hi all,
First Ibanez so i am a newbie to this.
After many hours of research I still can't find my guitars model.
Using the serial number I know it was produced in 1993 in the Fujigen factory in Japan.
It is a six string with a dark red burled mahoganny body with two double pickups with a single in the middle and a gold floyd rose bridge.
I can send you a photo if you can give me your email address .

Thanks for any help,
Stewart

The RG470 has a HSH pup configuration that is back routed. The 450 is front routed, therefore it has a scratchplate.

Damn I'm slow, 2006. I just got an RG1421 prestige in black haze burst at GC over the 4th weekend with a 15% coupon :)
