Well, the title says it all... o and italics make everything more better

Life Goes On

There's lots of things I shouldn't do but everybody lies
Like when you told me I was different from every other guy
So now then it seems like you never were the only one
Why should I sit and cry when I know life goes on

Don't sweat the small stuff
And you'll be fine
You take whats yours
And I'll take what's mine
I know I messed up
And now your gone
Why should I cry when I know life goes on

It's been so long I'm tired of feeling like I'm all alone
And now it feels like your never gonna come back home
I thought that when it was all over my life was gonna end
But I just got by with a little help from all my friends

Don't sweat the small stuff
And you'll be fine
You take what's yours
And I'll take what's mine
I know I messed up
And now your gone
Why should I cry when I know life goes on

And as I write this song I think of What we could have been
We could have had something more then what we had to end
And now your searching for that perfect guy you'll never find
When all you've ever wanted has just past before your eyes

Don't sweat the small stuff
And you'll be fine
You take what's yours
And I'll take what's mine
I know I messed up
And now your gone
Why should I cry when I know life goes on
Why should I cry when I know life goes on

AAAAHHHHHH ITS THE OLD MEN ON DRUGS!

The ivy crosses hang together in the half-moon arch
Wrapped in the coldest air,
While under the painting calm of a cobble stone bridge
Plastic psalms are prayed into the spiral sky
By three intoxicated men swathed in smoke
Grasping at the billowing mortar overhead,
Clawing at their beautiful toker faces,
As they spin webs out of parched mouths with bloody saliva, while
All around the warm bricks mesh in their eyes with such ease
So as to tease a sign from the ever-after,

And one speaks in a droning gurgle:
?Are you there god??
And another, peering out of fogged glasses:
?Quiet, I think I hear his face in the smolder?
A third, lighting the bowl and sucking in:
?He?s telling me that I don?t exist?

Suddenly their mouths become copper
Eyes to clear bronze, Limbs to rusted stainless steel,
As the censer-like mist clears, raped by evangelical light,
For the morning?s broken over their shoeless feet,
Perforated the smoke in holy columns,
And they yearn a way to grasp onto their frozen memory,
To pinch and kneed living moments longer,
To hold time twisting and screaming through darkened daylight,
Mold it into breathing answers.

But the gravel burns now, the waking daylight churns now, and
They howl at their stagnant shadows through sewn lips, shadows
Breaking like stone waves against the graffiti walls
And growing with each passing instant,
Sinking farther back to the divine semi-circle.

And all they can think: what if the other half is buried in smoke?

the first one doesnt say anything at all, and the second one might be saying something, but its indecipherable because of the overuse of thesaurus words... i'm not saying that i dont understand it, its just a pretty "metal" way of writing. like pretending its some ancient folklore legend. overall... not my cup of tea.

in no disrespect to you sir and in no way am i asking for any sort of crit from you but can you point out things to me so i can further my understanding of piece:
1. what thesaurus words? I honestly have used all of these words aside from evangelical in the past week.
2. What the fuking hell are you talking about, 'folklore'? The scene is deliberately set with three people getting high under a bridge, so uh, how is smoking a joint ancient folklore?
3. Wait, so is imagery now officially only metal? I was not aware. So ya, can you please tell me how it is metal? because everytime religion is mentioned it must be metal even if religion is in fact symbolic of a much deeper meaning?

so ya, excuse me, but I'm just rather confused :)

You really used "cobble stone bridge" in normal conversation this past week? Weird, but I'll take your word for it.

ya, the conversation is actually what sparked the piece, we were talking about Britain and making fun of the accent while walking by a bridge and my friend (who is a complete stoner/druggie) was all like "oi, my fee't hart oon dese bloody cobbles' and I thought to myself "hey, I should make a poem about this" and ya, thats the story of this poem, I will now stop spamming my thread for fear of Poochyboi... :)
