What do you guys think was David Gilmours best work with his guitar?

Either the interlude in Dogs or the solo in Pigs. I also love the little interlude in Echoes as well.

Comfortably Numb and Breathe in the air (with the slide and effects).

I love his playing.

2nd solo piece in time hands down most unique sounding solo ever. to this day i get goose bumps when he hits that high note at the end.

You mean 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' and 'Another Brick In The Wall Part II'? :p:

Meh, I think it's all great post-Saucerful Of Secrets. His tracks on Ummagumma are the redeeming points of the studio album, and after that it doesn't need mentioning that it's good. My favourite guitarist, and biggest inspiration on my music.

I honestly love the slide work David performs on Breath.

Usually when I listen to Dark Side of the Moon, I end of listening to Breath a few times before moving on to On the Run.

I also enjoy the solo on "Hey You" from The Wall.

Even though it's fairly short, David packs so much emotion into it, and it's so incredible.

Finally, I really like the outro on "Sheep" from Animals.

The guitar work isn't technically amazing, but those chords David plays sound awesome together.

Talk box in Pigs (Three Different Ones) is the coolest sounding thing ever, Time is my favourite Gilmour-solo and Comfortably Numb.

Comfortably numb has one of the best guitar solo's of all time, it's a pity the song is so dull. Otherwise it has to be Time; Those big bends sound amazing! :D

In my opinion, Animals contains David Gilmour's best guitar work with Pink Floyd, however, the solos in Shine On Pts. 1-9 from WYWH are probably his greatest, especially if you include the slide solo from 6-9.

Two relatively unknown songs, both of which contain great guitar are The Gold It's In The... and Childhood's End, both from Obscured By Clouds.

hard to pick a best but animals is a superb album for both guitar works and concept. also the obvious ones that people have already mentioned (shine on, comfortably numb, time solo)

The solos in Comfortably Numb, Hey You, and High Hopes are all so powerful. There is nothing like them.

Funny, I'm listening to Comfortably Numb right now, and the first solo just started.

Thirded.

The Gold It's in the... is my favorite song from Obscurred by Clouds, and I really love Childhood's End, too.

The guitar work in both of them is excellent.

Comfortably Numb without a doubt.
Farvorite version is on Delicate Sound of Thunder. PULSE close behind. The original is very good too. Besides on youtube you can find quit some few new versions from this year and they a damn good......way better than the Live8 version.

Then there is On the turning away. Do like the original but not the best Gilmour have done. But in Delicate Sound of Thinder version this is one of his best solos.

Dogs is amazing all the way. The tons of guitar work in that song is amazing. And the solos are super.

Marooned is so beautifull. Super nice.

Of cause Shine on you Crazy Diamond is among Gilmours best work. It doesnt get much better than that.

The Final Cut solo is really good.

Time is a classic......so is the guitar work on Money.

Any colour you like is "strange" in a super way. Unich.

Solo on Mother have to be one of the easiest solos ever but is so good.

Hey You solo is perfect.

Allmost forgot Echoes. Epic and amazing guitar work on that track.

Cluster One and Signs of Life is super delicate instrumental tracks.

I'd have to say that about every song he played was flawless.....all of them just seem to fit the song, especially in songs like SoYCD, Pigs(3DO) and Comfortabl Numb. I don't have Obscured by Clouds yet, but it's near the top of the "Albums to buy" list.....
