I need some help here. I'm not too familiar with Ted Nugent( outside of Cat Scratch Fever), so I'd like to know some of his songs that you guys think I should listen to, in order to get a full spectrum of his music. Thanks!!

There's not really much "spectrum." It's guitar riff rock with blatently sexual lyrics. That's every Ted Nugent song in a nutshell.

My band sometimes plays Stranglehold, usually with a jam part where we introduce the members (I hate wasting time by having introductions when we aren't playing).

Actually, yeah you're kind of right. I really could've cared less about Nugent before the show, and then after seeing a few episodes, and debating with a friend of mine whether Nuge was better than Eddie VH, I decided that I had to make an informed opinion and actually check out some of Nugent's work. And when I said the "spectrum" of his work, I was pretty much just refering to a group of songs that would enable me to get the best sense of what his music sounds like so that I can decide if I want to continue listening.

Thanks for all the suggestions though. I'll definitely check out those songs and some other ones.

Depends on what kinda style you like i guess.. Sure Eddie can play technical and fast as hell but I think Ted has more of a feel for the song/music thatn eddie. In a nut shell less is more sometimes. O and yes Ted can play fast as hell too if he needs to. Just my two cents

I've recently become addicted to Stranglehold, I love the solo in it. Pretty much everything I've heard from him so far is great.

Anything from the Penetrator Album dude.

Yeah who's seen him on that SuperGroup show with like Sebaistan Bach and Jason Bonham, etc. ? I thought the show was a bit stupid until Uncle Ted started shooting arrows in his bedroom.

I though it was an entertaining show, if I wasn't a loyal Nuge fan, I wouldn't have watched...

I like Nugent Alot most of the songs already mentioned in other posts. But too come back to that Ted VS Eddie. Can't people just go with that they're both good. IF they sound good they're good. No need to be better.

The more I listen to Ted, the more I agree with you. I love Eddie to death, but too many times his playing is too automatic. A tapping solo here, a tapping solo here, a tapping solo here, a solo with some tapping here, and here, and here, and here. Ted seems to mix it up a bit more and do some different things here and there. Like you said, he has a "feeling" for what should be done here and here, instead of just blazing through another solo like Eddie enjoys doing. It does depend on what you like, or even what you want to listen to at the time.

Alright all I have to say is the nuge is good but if he tried to touch EVH with a ten foot pole eddie would take it and beat him with it.

I can no longer agree with this statement. I think that each guitarist is great in his own right, and like some people have said, there's no way of comparison. Eddie, IMO, does some great stuff, his riffs are great, I love his tapping, and usually, I like how he puts stuff together. But, Nuge, on the other hand, has a feeling for the music that Eddie can't match. Just simple bends and riffs give his music a much different dimension than Eddie's.

Edit: Besides, Nuge is frickin crazy, he wouldn't try to touch Eddie with a ten foot pole, he would blast his head off with a shotgun.
