Forgive me if there's already a thread, but I usually don't hang out in the hardcore/metalcore section. I did a search and I didn't really see anything.

Anyways, what do you think of these guys? I just got two free tickets to see them so I guess I'll probably go anyways.

Unearth is probably my favorite metalcore band ever.

You lucky bastard :p:

One of the better metalcore bands out there.

But I'm pretty sure there's already a thread aboot them floating around these parts somewhere.....

Always make sure you search every page; I know there are at least two Unearth threads. I know it's a pain but such is life.

Unearth is great, but the new album sounds like no progression whatsoever.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of but it's kinda hard to do so given the type of music the play

The Oncoming Storm kicked major ass but I was VERY disappointed with In The Eyes Of Fire...

Not really. Unearth has the capability of retaining their own style while progressing, even if it's just a little bit.

Is the new Unearth cd worth paying 10 bucks for?

Yeah, I think if they had tried to progress it could have been awesome. It might have been difficult to add anything into the music without straying too far from their sound though. Everything I think about has already been done by others (Math, DM infuences or even more melodic) or wouldn't fit in with their style (Industrial/Electronica).

Unearth are really good, but I'm kind of annoyed by the overuse of sweeped minor arpeggios that I hear.

They're seriously pretty much the same album. What's not to like about it?

i liked the guitar work on III in the eyes of fire better but the song structure was better.

Well, you're SOL. That concert was like 2 and a half months ago and I completely forgot about this thread. I didn't end up going; something came up and I couldn't go. 2 tickets wasted.

Got III recently. It's good, but pretty much a rehash of everything they've done so far.

I'm a big fan of Unearth. Thought The Oncoming Storm was good, but not great. III is an awesome album though.

Should be seeing them soon in Portsmouth. Also looking forward to Daath in support.

I think that they did progress somewhat by using 7-strings on III.

^They used 7 strings on The Oncoming Storm and probably whatever they released before that too.
