I apologize to the mods in advance if I shouldn't have made this thread, but I was wondering where the old one went, and I figured people wouldn't want a bunch of "I'm looking for a band with _____ and _____" threads in the hardcore forum. So I thought I'd start a new one.

And, I'm looking for a hardcore band in the vein of Throwdown and Hatebreed- really pissed-off and chuggy/riff-based, but with some talent and variation. Any suggestions?

You should give mudvayne a try. they fit your criteria perfectly.

Im also looking for some new music, something fast, angry and with fancy bass thats fun to play.

StuartR
09-05-2006, 07:36 AM
NO THEY DON'T.

Try Bury Your Dead, maybe Terror (Lowest Of The Low) and Ringworm too although they're more straight forward hardcore.

Also I think this 'Sticky: Hardcore FAQ: What is hardcore? here's some bands to give you a idea' was the Rec thread until it was colsed.

Stick To Your Guns maybe?

Craigo
09-05-2006, 07:57 AM
There was one ages ago but Def closed it, because of people messing it up.

Okay, I'll start with the first proper band + bio.

http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l60/FinalSelkies/loyaltothegrave.gif

Loyal To The Grave, a hardcore band with some traditional ideas, chuggy riffs and also some new fresh ideas in their riffs and sound. The craziest part of it? Japan based. Highly recommended for fans of bands such as Hatebreed.

Keeping hardcore as it is, but writing it as they want to hear it.

Links: www.purevolume.com/loyaltothegrave
www.loyaltothegrave.com
www.myspace.com/loyaltothegrave168

For the full experience, check out their myspace. I got a few more ideas for bands if you want me to do more like these. Just name the sort of thing you're looking for, I'll find it.

EDIT: I'd love to see this being kept going. If someone would need a recommendation, I will offer well. Or, if someone would recommend me a positive, heavy hardcore band like Stick To Your Guns for me, that would be mental.

Check out Jackife...they may be what you're looking for. I'm sure they have purevolume and myspace sites.

Ringworm was a good recommendation. Check out Donnybrook!, too. I'm not really the biggest fan of tough guy hardcore. If you want something angry, check out Outbreak, even though they don't meet your criteria for what you are looking for.

Could there be a large list on this Rec thread like the Metal forum to give names of Artists so people can check out some of their music? I don't know too much about Hardcore/Metalcore and such, and im sure there are people just like me, but I am getting more into it.

Stick to Your Guns, First Blood and Since the Flood might meet what you're looking for.

I'm currently looking for some really brutal Death Metal. I don't want pure Metal...Instead something along the lines of Elysia, Animosity, Misery Index and A Black Rose Burial. Nothing ****ty like Job For A Cowboy or As Blood Runs Black.

Go for some old school Herod. Listen to "When Your Body Falls". Or, if you can handle their far more new metal image, try out their new stuff. Also, a band that may be worth checking out is Evergreen Terrance. They're pretty big but I never see anyone mention them. They fix up some melodic in their songs without over doing it.

Mudvaynes best is probably LD.50
It combines heavy breakdwon type riffs with underrated musicianship
Listen to Nothing To Gein and you'll see what I mean.

And yeah they're nu-metal but as for All Shall Perish I am pretty sure that you will be raped if you post them in the metal forum.
