OK simple question, there's 3 single coil pickups, 2 tone knobs. Which pickup/s does each tone knob control?

Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong but...

Top one does Bridge pickup, and Bottom one does Middle pickup. On my Strat the middle pickup is broken so it does nothing

As far as I can tell, bottom does bridge and top does neck.

So if your selector is on neck, it's purely for that, if it's on neck middle, then it changes the amount of balance between the neck and the bridge, and so on.

It's different depending on what kind of strat you have.

On mine:

Top tone knob controls the neck pickup (when the switch is all the way up (5th position) selected on the neck pickup)

Bottom tone knob controls the middle pickup (when the switch is in the middle (3rd position selected the middle pickup)

Ok well I'm talking about the 60th anniversary standard strat (mexi). Why would the tone knobs vary from strat to strat?

if your guitar was rewired it could change. It all depends on if an idiot wired your guitar, or a smart guy did it. I rewired my ESP and it sounds amazing now.

Its all about personal perference. Some people dont like to limited to just the neck and middle pickups so they set the tone knobs to the neck and bridge. As for the 60th standard i think its set to the neck and middle pickups

On mine I hooked everything up to one tone, so the other one is just there for decoration.

But yeah, on most Strats, top controls neck, bottom controls middle. Bridge usually isn't hooked up to a tone control stock.

it's a little strange but the bridge pickup, which seems to need the most tone help, isnt hooked up to a tone knob.

easy enough to fix tho. ;)

as far as the switch goes.

pointed to the neck it does the neck pickup.
click it once down and u get the neck and the middle pickup together.
click it to the middle and get the middle pickup.
click it down again and get the middle and bridge pickup together.
pointed down towards the bridge, and u get the bridge pickup alone.

Definitely not.

If you want a different tone from the bridge pickup, then you should buy a different guitar, because that's the Strat sound.
