I have been seeing links in peoples user titles, sigs, names, locations and join dates.

I snapped a photo of a link in this persons sig that just popped up. He doesn't even have this as "teen" linked in his sig because when I refresh it goes away and then comes back.

I just wanted to address this.

Where does it send you when you click it?

are you sure he's not just pulling our legs and changing his sig??

I have a feeling that it's not in his post at all, and that you have a spyware problem that needs to be dealt with.

i once accidently downloaded some plugin or something that would set links to a bunch of random words. it would randomly link to products that were related to that word, like if someone had posted the word 'shoe', it might be turned into a link to a shoestore. it kind of sounds like it might be something like that here, especially if it happens on other sites.

This happened to me aswell, really pissed me off too, random words would just become links to useless crap!!

^ That happened to me a couple of years ago too.

Looks like Nelsean has the teen pr0n spyware.

There's no link in users sig that you pointed out. If you're seeing links elsewhere, you've definately got an issue on your end.

Ahh. Yeah it must be spyware. Im getting these links all over the place now.

I'll check out that adware. My comp is getting really messed up after stating this problem.

Only the more obscure pr0n sites have viruses and spyware floating around them.

Just what have you been looking at Nelsean? :p:

^How would you know that only obscure ones have viruses? :p:

Invest in some spyware scanners. I have like eight for some reason. . .

I don't think it's pr0n related, because I never DL it. It's always streaming. ;)

Damn... Now all of a sudden im gettin this message on my desktop as well. I've been doing scans and i've found files that are like imbetted into the system. Can't do much. :(

Sorry if this isn't UG related, but I guess I can milk some questions until this gets closed. :)

If they're using IE then switch to something else like FF.

Streaming is still downloading to an extent...

That looks like one of them scam spywares. Where they install the spyware, screw about with your registry and such so that this message comes up and try and make you buy their spyware program. I had it once when I had no firewall up and was on someone else's pc a while back, except it redirected me to this spyware company page saying I had been infected. It was obviously a set-up, but I wonder how many people actually believe that scam and paid for a program from them. That's what I'm guessing yours is. MY solution- get some spyware removers from download.com. Though you might have a few things left hanging around, usually crap in the registry which will have to be manually sorted out if any of the spyware removers don't do it.

Edit: Though if you really can't be asked with hunting down and correcting every last bit, you could just system restore/ reinstall windows completely. At least you have the chance to back up your files...

The system restore gets all jammed up. I guess im going to have to reinstall windows. =/
