Let the game's begin!! Please Vote for you're favourite piece!!

The gravedigger?s grey cap
Never tires of weaving mythology
From the fibers of sweat
And the stinging, stabbing needle of days past.

Colour erodes my dreams, clouds my mind
Successfully carpet-bombing my wildest desires
Leaving run-down ambitions, desolate trails of thought;
Whilst safeguarding my most cherished memories.

Madness all around me.
Madness in my head.
Madness in my mind.
Madness now im dead

Clenching weathered nails in my ceramic palm
As I grasp for oxygen, breathing you in;
Surfacing from the depths of the fluoride ocean calm
Bubbling with a million specks of interest

Besides the whole unethical part?

Dirk Gently

Why's it unethical? If you were in an election for, say, a political office, you'd be expected (and pretty stupid if you didn't) to vote for yourself.

In friendly elections (especially aesthetically-based), you vote for someone other than yourself. It's a sort of code of honor not to gratify yourself.

It's sort of like the difference between that kid in student council that voted for his opponent and the kid that voted for himself - I don't know about everyone else, but I was always told to give a nod to my opponents as something of respect.

Well, I see your point; but this is a competition with no actual rewards apart from an ego boost. So I say why not vote for youself? If you don't win, nothing happens. If you win, nothing happens.

I wasn't aware there was such a thing as a "friendly" election.

i wasnt aware that winning an online writing competition gives you an ego boost

y'know, I see you guy's point, you are right, there is no real reason to do these competitions anymore.

Phoebus

no, im not saying we shouldnt do them, i'm just saying that people shouldn't throw fits and accuse people of cheating and being unethical just over an online writing forum. its for fun. relax.

It's manners. Sorry if I'm sensitive to people actually having manners these days, instead of being egocentric at every opportunity.

Give it to either red or blue - green's out.

I like the fact that voting for yourself isn't a rule here but is merely frowned upon (well, by myself and para, at least :\ )
If the people be led by laws, and uniformity sought to be given them by punishments, they will try to avoid the punishment, but have no sense of shame. If they be led by virtue, and uniformity sought to be given them by the rules of propriety, they will have the sense of shame, and moreover will become good
