Version II. This is for two points. Good luck.

Through the Eyes...

In the eye of the beholder art is love
In the eye of the detester art is hurt
Through the eyes of a child art is wonder
Through the eyes of the blind art is worthless

Through the eyes of a man a star is gas
Through the eyes of a woman a star is beatiful
Through the eyes of a child a star is wonder
Through the eyes of the blind a star is worthless

In the eye of the magician a trick is simple
In the eye of an adult a trick is suspicious
Through the eyes of a child a trick is wonder
Through the eyes of the blind a trick is worthless

Through the eyes of a thinker a bird is a thought
Through the eyes of the common man a bird is an animal
Through the eyes of a child a bird is wonder
Through the eyes of the blind a bird is worthless

A Static (Em)brace of Confined Proclamation

I didn't give you that statue
just to see you sneak it by,
the camera's lazy eye.
Could it be your sympathetic vogue,
used as a cover page
overtop any crease or uneven fold.

Within my lap-top,
the screen on which you sneeze
connects the colored prints;
a lavished port-trail of documents,
that I cannot decide
whether to use as a trip-wire or fishing line.

To the cabins we hike,
sitting on boats and waiting for the anchors
to change our minds.
And only in time, I assume,
the river dance will turn into a walk
that we will all be able to do.
Even if we have to sit at home
blank-stare happy,
sipping on a sluggish tune.

"He won't need us," she says,
without being that leery,
while smearing the blood
she held cupped in her hand.
Like the compliments she often takes
with a thousand grains of sand.

"Mark my word, this will not be it
for this family,"
cause it is too simple
and impossible to understand.

I leave the county thinking in small
bit-sized increments.
Sneering at the truth
Because it is such an enemy.
A product from which
I thought I could condition life.
But at it's fullest, I've learned,
it starts and ends
at the same place where
it needs to straighten and bend.
