my friend is just starting out and wants an acoustic and asked me for a brand type, but im not too familiar with the best brands....can you guys recommend me some

takamine, alvarez, yamaha.

ask if he wants a cutaway, onboard electronics, a thinline, and get a budget.

takamine is good but expensive so unless your pal is loaded then thats probably not a good bet. martin makes real nice acoustics, and yamahas are good for beginners [i.e. theyre cheap lol]

martin's are expensive as hell, too

martin and johnson are the most affordable while being one of the best beginners acoustic guitars

takamine and cheaper than martins and yamaha's are quality starters.
