No, invisible users just don't show up on the online list.

You want to see something funny?

Wait till a thread with a sexual term in the title is posted.

Look at the viewing count.

I reckon that's because of all the pervs on search engines come here as guests and then get dissapointed to just find a spam/joke thread.

I'm curious whether google searches show up as guests here, even if the searcher doesn't click the link.

:p:I care!

I think that it's inevitable that the third biggest music site on the net (I remember reading that somewhere) will have alot of unregistered users. Plus the banned people who log off and lurk through the forums.

no no no. searches pull up pages from a database which is frequently updated. which is why 9 times out of 10 youhave to submit your site to google for it to be listed. so if i searched for UG now, it wouldnt add any guests because of it.

I care!

well, sometimes I get on and just don't feel like signing on to get a tab or something so I guess it counts me as a guest..... that's always a possiblity for some of the guests.... just a thought.

I couldn't possibly find the whole answer to this but, through using Google on FF whilst being logged onto the forum on IE the total of guests has gone up 3 to 1,043 (at the present moment.)

Now 1 of the guests is me on the forum, the 2nd could be the Google search results in another tab or the other 2 could be, which is most probably is, 2 other people.

I don't get why guests come here, but never register. Why would you want to sit here and look at the forums and not be able to post.

^It's all the banned kids.

You MODS must be doing one hell of a good job, thrice times+ more guests than users.

I think guests should only have access to the 'New Members Q&A forum' this'll mean if you want to read other material you'd have to register. And if you've been a bad kid and got banned well that's just tough luck.

I think this can be enabled on vBulletin board... I'd have to look it up though.
