Yeah, please vote. This will probably be the last for a while.

Hartford
In this small town of Hartford, good will taverns and Rubik's Cube office buildings glitter the skyline. Ceilings seem like overhead views of a conglomerate militia with egotistical magnetism forming them into divisions, sections, rows.

And this brings us to the leader of this great town. The United Deist Science Association has been the leading party in every election over the past 50 years, and their winner this year was a man named Joseph Hart. The town was named after his ancestor, the hero who founded it during the Crusades. Nowadays, most religious devout are interchangeable with lesser life.

Mary, his daughter, is the town's most beautiful twelve-year old.

Pravus, his son, was the first of all of the town's men to make a life out of the sea.

Joseph
They look upon me with respect.

Mary
They look upon me with lust.

Pravus
They look upon me with scorn.
________________________________________

Joseph
They're all in admiration.
Every conversation is simply an effort
to say things that would be considered
normal.

I dream of secret caves
and precious faces
that only I can understand.

Mary
They're all enamored.

I almost want to do nothing about it
so I'll keep feeling wanted.

Pravus
They're all fearful.
Because I stay at the glassy pond
inspecting
- no -
accepting my dark eyes.
________________________________________

Joseph
Whenever I stare into her beautiful eyes,
I can't keep track of my thoughts.
Why do I keep talking, then? Why do I say
"Of course, darling Mary".

Mary
He's the only one
who ever looked
exclusively into
my permanent eyes.

Pravus
I told Mary when I began to dream of her.
She avoids my gaze.

I told Joseph when I began to dream of the gloom
He avoids my gaze.

I still dream, but never have confided;
I wear my diary pages
around my neck.
________________________________________

Joseph
My last name wasn't originally Hart.

Mary
Maybe I should stop putting on
provocative faces,
and faking ignorance.
- no -

Pravus
I kept the name.
Costumes are much too cumbersome.

A Walk Around the Block
I couldn’t even hail a cab
with the way my face was structured.
Remembering the only chance
I could’ve ducked from that stab
would’ve been to play dead,
like bears do
when they are being attacked by hunters.

I hope to circulate the blood flow
with a few more laps around this block.
But maybe I should go the other way this time;
Framing each drop
with my teacher’s favorite piece of chalk.

The Kleinsmith’s, no…
The Jones’, nay,
They wouldn’t help me.
Unless I had something to sell,
or an arm full or roses
expressing my love for their daughter
and my willingness to say “I do.”
But they don’t even have a daughter,
and the Kleinsmith’s don't have enough money
to be wasting it on running water.

So I think it is simple enough
for me to take a chance
and not even try to flee this time.
Like when robotic birds recharge themselves
with every power-line they touch,
I pray for the first time in my life
to a god I was never able to trust.
But for what?
For him to save me?
Forgive me?
I pause for a moment
and reach for my knife again.
For maybe there won’t be a reason this time
for me to miss.

I have to go with the first on this one, while the second is still growing on me, the first just takes it.

****, the first one reminds me too much of something I'd write so I cant vote for it.

And I'll vote even though I hate society :p:

Correction.
Vote or die. If you're emotional and hate your life, then vote or live.

Society is the very thing that made us (other than our parents) and the very thing that brakes us. Without society there would be no life, and with society life is imperfect to say the very least.

Anyhow, on topic :p:: Teal.

I agree with Dylan, I hate society. When I really think about it.. almost everything in life is pathetic, it's sad to me.

I went with the first one, it's more of my kind of style. Though I did love both pieces.

Sorry Teghvir, but your piece needs work, and I really like Carp's.
