Verse1
Discarded for another
This has happened twice
What is wrong with what I have to offer?
Will it ever suffice?
Breaking in this early November
Is my crumpled heart
Cold Winter
As winter’s snow comes to get me
And drag it all into the dark
Chorus
Cold is the winter wind
As it blows through a hollow me
It looked like fall will never end
But now a lonely winter is out to get me
Verse 2
She said she loved me
I was foolish to believe
That this could last forever
Women always do deceive
Chorus
Bridge
As the winter bites my face
In this godforsaken place
Memories engulf my mind
Of you and me and what magic happened here
The seasons changed
So did your heart
I pick up the pieces
And try to start but
Chorus
Chorus ending
Cold is the winter wind
As it blows through a hollow me
Fall has officially ended
And now this lonely winter has claimed me
The Winter of our Discontent
Ice waves glaze the city streets
And blanket building walls
While children skid on box-top dreams
And memories of fall
While the night is biting frost
And the moon the bluest eye
Children dream of love long lost
And frozen tears do cry
Wintrinsically
I sit in a heated car
on a snowy evening
observing.
Observing snow melt as it approaches my gaze.
Observing me melt as I approach your gaze.
Observing you melt as you wish on an alabaster wall.
Observing me throw credit cards in a wishing well.
Observing you smoke to fill for the body heat you crave.
Observing smoke solidify into clouds over our eyes.
smiling.
11-11
Hundreds of gleaming red eyes glare
Cowering from the unrelenting gaze
Yet shielded by swirling snow
Metamorphosing my life into a Monet
We sit in the pallid arms of snow
Wrapped in wrestless embrace
Breathe through grating iron teeth
Exhale smoke-like wisps which condense in mid-air
Concrete tongue catches wavering white confetti
These teenage lovers dance to the cadence of Christmas carols
Painting fragile lights upon bare brown skeletons
Breaking from concrete skin, grasping for the somber sky
The monotone eyes blink, green...yellow... then back to red...
Uncaptured by even the master painter's agile stroke
Discarded for another
