My mom and dad were dead heads, making me go to over like 50 concerts before I was two.

ALL HAIL THE DEAD

Yeah, you're right.

This thread is going to get closed unless it starts leading somewhere, so...

What is everyone's favorite Grateful Dead album?

^^^My favorite studio album is either American Beauty, or Aoxomoxoa. And live would be Dicks Picks 14.

Awesome.

For a long time, I really loved American Beauty, and it was my favorite album of theirs.

It still ranks among my tops, but I later moved on to Blues for Allah, but now I'm really digging Workingman's Dead.

Yeah man, you gotta love the Dead. I don't know about favourite album. All their albums are great. Especially if you're talking about live ones as well.

I was looking more for favorite studio albums, but live albums are welcome as well.

My personal favorite live album is One From the Vault.

The introduction into Help On the Way/Slipknot! is amazing.

favorite album by the Dead has to be The Closing of Winterland...phenominal (to say the least)...

One thing I've noticed about the Dead is they can do some INCREDIBLE covers....anybody heard them do Baba O Reily>Tomorrow Never Knows? pure musical genius

I have never heard an actual Dead album in it's entirety... I am shamed.

Boring hippy crap. Woot.

EDIT: I tried hard to like them, really. I just can't.

No comment, bluesbreaker7.

Mongoose87, their are many sites like that. The Grateful Dead were one of the many bands who encouraged taping of their shows, and didn't really mind distribution, because unlike a lot of bands, they were actually about the music.
