Hi, i remember when I first heard of Canon played on an electric guitar: I think I typed in Yngwie J. Malmsteen on Limewire. I downloaded something called Canon in D Major. I knew right away it wasn't him and then this whole JerryC thing popped on the internet out of no where. I can tell you now, it's not Canon Rock by JerryC. It's different. I would appreciate if any of you could help me identify it. It could be JerryC but sources tell me otherwise. I've uploaded several yousendit.com files just in case one gets expired.

I really like this version of Canon - I love the ending, tapping is it or is it sweeped (whatever, great harmonisation) ? Please ignore the file name because I just named it that. If it turns out to be JerryC, well, let's just say I'm very impressed as it's a thousand times better than the Canon Rock version he plays on video (the one everyone knows)

ok, i cant download it, but judging from what you say about tapped soloing i have a feeling i know what it is. Does it have a female vocalist? if so, its Christmas Canon Rock by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I think Alex Skolnick may have played guitar on that one, but not sure on that.

No. It has no vocalist, just a guitar and a sort of drum machine, which leads me to believe it may be JerryC.

I posted this about a year ago, and no one knew the answer. Good luck finding out though.

Oh really? Glad I'm not the only one interested. I'm gathering you liked it too?

Hmm... the title is Canon Rock Studio. The Jerry C version that floats about the internet and perennially surfaces in here is just him sitting on a bed and playing. Perhaps he did another version with proper multitracking and cleaning up, hence the "studio" tag?

I did say ignore the title. I wrote that because I didn't know what else to call it. But thanks for checking out though.

I did last year. Now I'm just exposed to stuff that blows that away. :p:

It seems to have a lot of similar elements that JerryC's version does, especially near the end, so it might just be a version that he did in the studio and you guessed right on the name. :p: Or I could be completely wrong.... if you find out who it is though, let me know.

I can see what you mean by the end and the drum machine is making me a little suspicious. Dammit, I really want to know who this guy is.

EDIT: Beckerism. I will die trying to find out this guys name. :p:

Perhaps post it on his forum and ask around.

That's where my sources came from. They said it wasn't him.

EDIT: I realise, I type fast, so don't be frightened :p:

I'm fairly positive it isn't JerryC, different tone and that one is much better technique wise I believe. I got that song like... 3 years ago or more and I don't think that JerryC was that good then, he only started playing when he was 17, so I don't think it's him.

Thanks for the tip. I had no idea it was a little over 3 years old, making the statement that it is JerryC seem completely wrong.
