Was tossing ideas back and forward and saw a actualy decent electric guitar for a decent price, but i know you can't play bass on guitar amp, and I doubt you can play guitar on a bass amp... But i got a 15 wat practice amp (for bass) and was wondering if it would hurt the amp to run the guitar through it. Just wanted to be sure.

I've run my strat through a bass amp before, didn't seem to do any harm.

well it shouldn't hurt it if you don't crank it to loud, Lacuna Coil's guitar tracks on their newest album were recorded on a bass amp for godsake so it shouldn't be to bad

Guitars through bass amps is fine. The Fender Bassman amp is actually fairly popular with guitarists, and the band Kyuss played with bass amps.

Example. Josh Homme use AMPEG tube bass amps!

I'd say not to crank it...SS amps are more picky than tube....

Roll back the treble and you'll be fine at a low volume...Also if you roll the bass back and play low, a tube guitar amp will handle a bass decently...

as far as doing damage to the amp , i don't think you have to worry.

never run a bass ( or keyboard ) at any kind of volume through a guitar amp though.

Doesn't Doyle from the Misfits use a bass amp?

yeah, i have the Ampeg 115 bass amp
it's got two imputs, so my buddy and I jam at the same time through that, he on guitar, me on bass.
I'm still cautious of cranking the treble and volume to 11, but no harm no foul so far.

Hardly anyone at all seems to remember that one of the most appreciated guitaramps ever, the Fender Bassman, was originally designed to go with the P-bass way back in the early 50's. No kiddin'.
