Yea, most highish end Fenders like Twins and Deluxe Reverbs.

Also I've heard people rave about Mesa Lonestar's cleans.

Mesa/Boogie Lone Star if you like warm cleans. Fender Vibrolux for shimmery cleans.

I'm also a fan of the Roland Jazz Chorus. Great cleans. Workhorse of an amp.

whoever said the hot rod deluxe had good cleans youve GOT to be kidding me!.

A vintage jazz chorus for jazz.. a fender twin or pro reverb for rock/blues, and a hiwatt for rock.

Roland Jazz Chorus amps have been called the cleanest amps of all time. Personally when i had mine i couldnt really deal with because it was too clean.

Depends on the style/song

JAzz : Roland JC120 (sparkly)
Rock/Pop/Metal: Fender Twin Reverbs (warm)

I don't like the AC30's cleans.........

Umm..I believe that was me.

I thought the cleans were alright but if you think i'm wrong just correct what I said and give some good amp recomendations.

And since you did give some good reccomendations, better than mine most likely, we're cool. :peace:

How much are the Fender twin/pro reverbs usuallly? If you don't mind me asking.

Yeah roland ftw, it has the awesomest cleans ever. Never gets dirty, sounds awesome, great amp.

But then fender twin reverbs sounds nice too

I'd pick a jazz chorus though

zep-page: my local shop has silverface twins for 750 and silverface pro reverbs for 850 (american).. so for an extra 300 bucks you can have a vintage, 100 watt clean machine ;)

but its cool.. im just really not a fan of the deluxe for clean tones.. they do take pedals really well.. our lead guitarist got a sansamp.. put a clean model on it, and his amp sounded absolutely fantastic.

British cleans: Vox AC30 or Marshall JTM45/ Marshall Plexi.

i'd have to disagree here. the jazz chorus has great cleans, but is almost to sterile for me. you said twin reverbs were warm? mine sounds very bright and sparkly. if anything, the AC30 is the amp with "warm" cleans

roland jc120 or for a tube amp probably a carvin mts or legacy

Fender Bassman, Engl Classic, THC Surfer, Roland JC, and the list goes on and on and on.... Those are my favourites.

TS, if by any chance you wanted to have advice on what amp to buy, you'd need to tell us what music you play and how much you want to spend.

I played a Fender Twin for over 30 years and always felt it couldn't get any better than that. Boy was I wrong. The Peavey Session 500 beats the snot out of it hands down for clean, power and overall useable range. The Session 500 is simply the best amp I have ever played thru. Yes, it is even heavier than my old Twin, but it's also alot more amp too.

The Jazz Chorus is a nice clean amp but for my money the shootout would have to be between a Fender Twin and a Vox AC30.
However, that's for mass produced things; there are lots of boutique amps that would easily compete with either of those two. The Red Iron T-Rex comes to mind.

my real input: the best cleans ive played have come from a cornford.

matchless spitfire or matchless DC-30. twin reverb a close second. i think AC30 cleans are really love/hate. personally i think an AC30 sounds pretty mediocre clean but really opens up nicely as it starts to break up.

Fender and Vox are probably going to be the favorites in this category.

I've owned both Fenders and Vox amps and they are fantastic amps for clean tones.

If you're looking for a clean tone with a lot of headroom, look at the Fender. If you're looking for clean tones with a lot of warmth to them, check out the Vox.

However, in my personal opinion, nothing has better clean tones then a Carvin amp.

JSX has good cleans, though without effects you can find them quite "sterile"
Mesa Lonestar has been reported to have some good cleans. A lot of country players I know use them.
Roland Jazz Chorus FTW
