Religious Wars - Subhumans. It sounds great live, and it's a great song. There's plenty of videos of them live on YouTube.

Or if you're feeling pretty confident with your playing skills, play ANY song from the album "Dead FM" by Strike Anywhere. They're a cross between "Melodic" Hardcore and Punk Rock. If you want, do "Instinct" by Strike Anywhere. There's a music video if you want to hear the song. Again, use YouTube to watch.

Or just go for a NOFX song. Preferably 100 Time ****eder. That one sounds good, but is may not be what you're after.

^don't listen to him, nofx is pop punk, rise against are pop punk and anti-flag is just punk, hardcore is like Black Flag, Union 13 and Agnostic Front

EDIT- to the first replyer

I agree. Too many people confuse pop-punk with REAL punk.
I hate pop-punk!

Although, In my opinion, NOFX aren't Pop-Punk. They're more Punk Rock (as in, they may not be 'true' punk, but are still punk, perhaps with a more standard rock influence.)

EDIT: Rememer my suggestions for songs. Any Strike Anywhere songs from "Dead FM" is sure to go down well with many people.

pop punk and pop rock marketed as pop punk are 2 different things, man. pop punk is like the ramones, the bodies(kinda street punk too though) the bouncing souls, the buzzcocks, propaghandi, just a lighter, more upbeat kind of punk.
pop rock marketed as pop punk(damn that's long) is like green day or blink 182, just corporate rock that's called rebellious to sell records

I'm not saying NOFX are pop-rock.

I'm saying that, in my opinion, NOFX are "Punk Rock/Rock".

Anyway, let's get back on topic.

Actually, the debate is over. We're now discussing what songs are best to played.

Actually, to threadstarter, "Apathy" by Subhumans is good, but it's not hardcore punk. Again, I strongly suggest Strike Anywhere. They would appear to meet you description.

Well, I would say that a lot of old hardcore is pretty simple. The only thing is that it's also really fast. Here's a few:

Circle Jerks - I Just Want Some Skank, Beverly Hills
Black Flag - No Values, Revenge, Depression
T.S.O.L. - Superficial Love, Code Blue, Die For Me
MDC - Dick For Brains, John Wayne Was a Nazi
JFA - Beach Blanket Bongout, Johnny D, Little Big Man
Government Issue - Teenager In a Box
Fear - I Love Livin' In the City, No More Nothing

Dead Kennedys - "Soup Is Good Food" That's my fav DK's song to play.
"When Ya Get Drafted" because the solo is awesome (but easy).

Maybe "Subvert City" if you like the Subhumans.

More pop-punk, but "Back to the Motor League" by Propagandhi is really fun to play, and it's not too hard, but also not too easy.

I always like playing Police Truck by DK.

I haven't tried playing them but Punks not Dead and Sid Vicious Is Innocent by The Exploited sound like good ones to play.
