I posted an unfinished version of this a little while ago. Ive been working on this for a while and put a lot of effort into it. This is probably the longest and most complex piece I have written. It has a lot of key changes and harmonizing, changes from acoustic to distortion, some synth at some points to keep it interesting, etc.

Cant wait to hear what you guys think :D

dude where's the link?

01-02-2007, 08:54 AM

that is absolutely great. loved the acoustic parts in it.

very pretty.

nice work!

I really enjoyed that especially that harmonised part from bar 173 - 184.
The acoustic parts were well placed breaks from the fast harmonised riffs and the bass part underneath kept my interest still as it didn't just play root notes, you added some little fills and such. I don't think it's missing anything but for me it could do with being a little bit shorter, but that's just my opinion.
Great work and I hope hearing some more of your stuff soon!
How long have you been playing? What scale(s) is it in?

01-02-2007, 09:19 AM
Wow, wow, wow, loved it. Top job :D

01-02-2007, 02:28 PM
Thanks alot guys!

Ive been playing for about a year and a half. And I use too many scales to remember lol. Most notably is the minor pentatonics and major scale modes.

Your bassline during the slower part is amazing

The whole song is amazing

01-03-2007, 09:35 AM
Thanks alot dude!

01-03-2007, 10:15 AM
holy SHIT, seriously. that is amazing. are you a bass player by chance or do you just love a sweet bassline in your music? that was great.

Im speechless....That interlude from measure 121 was incredible... =O i dont know what to say, my only crit is that the beginning seems to be a little out of sync. Otherwise it was possibly the best instrumental ive heard in my whole life. 11/10

That was pretty brilliant. You should get a band together, learn that song note for note, and then become my favourite Melodic Metal band. Seriously though, that was a really good piece.

Lots of catchy harmonies, compelling interludes and a great use of synths. The breakdown at 5.12 got my head nodding even in cheesy midi. Then the following progressive section just tops it all off really.

The whole piece to me sounds like a a great prog/melodic metal accomplishment. Well done.

01-04-2007, 08:59 AM
more people need to see this. it's seriously brilliant.

01-04-2007, 12:04 PM
Wow thanks alot guys it means alot to me!

Hey, I remember having having your old version of this. The intro is alright, the harmonization is pretty cool. I loved bar 25, the whole harmonization part after that is pretty cool. Bar 71 with the fade in harmonization is sweet. I LOVED the acoustic at bar 89... Had some weird feel to it.

Yeah your basslines are pretty sweet. Wow bar 203 is pretty eerie...

I'd love to hear that recorded. I couldn't really find anything bad about it... So I guess I'll give it a 11/10.

lol first off Pyreflies confusing to me, since both pyre and fire are pretty much the same wordt. i thought the acoustic part was lack luster. the break down around 5:12 was awesome, it sounded killer. and the acoustic after that was pretty good, but the arpeggios started to get annoying, i woulda like to hear an actually riff or sumthing with more rhythm. the drums give a sick nasty ghost reveries vibe. overall this was fantastic. id love to here more stuff form u

Thanks alot guys!

Before I record this one I wanna make sure I have it down 100%. Most of the stuff I do have down. there are just a couple riffs I need to work on timing wise and I have to figure out how im gonna do the fade in things without a volume pedal.

01-07-2007, 05:04 AM
Ooooh yeah.. that was freakin great.
Kinda reminded me of opeth at some places.
And yeah your bass line is sweet.
Good work!

To Mr. NovemberRain273.

You are a musical genius. I've listened to about 5 other pieces today, and I can easily say yours is the best. Not overly technical, but brilliant. How old are you? Because all I can say is that I know guitarists who have been playing 20 + years who couldn't write something as good as that.

01-07-2007, 09:27 PM
He's like 15/16 years old!!!

By the way, I loved the key changes if I didn't already say that before.

01-08-2007, 04:19 AM
i really liked the intro and the distorted single note riffs.

damn im jealous, incredible. how do you come up with these songs? you just come up with a riff then another and another and somehow link them together?

01-11-2007, 07:32 PM
That is just amazing. I'm not even sure what else can be said.

Wow. Dude. This is beyond words good. Now I feel all bad about my songs because none of them are this good. Amazing work dude. 10/10

Thanks alot guys!

Ive been playing for about a year and a half. And I use too many scales to remember lol. Most notably is the minor pentatonics and major scale modes.
Year and a half? Dammit! I've been playing for about as long, and I can't make a lot of the connections you have. How did you learn? Oh, and I've been trying to learn Revolution by ear(something I've never really done before), and I have a couple of parts down(those pull-off riffs, aww man, so cool!).

i thought it was good!!! like extremely well put together good! except... the transitions from the distorted sections to the acoustic sections were kind of... eh... but i especially liked the acoustic part halfway through the song =]

01-13-2007, 09:24 PM
Wow, that is awesome. Thats the first tab I've actually enjoyed. Nice job, man.

01-13-2007, 10:21 PM
This is beyond awesome dude. I just loved it, I don't think there's anything much that can be done to make it better.

01-13-2007, 11:14 PM

that slower acoustic part could have made a song by itself, i loved it.
the percussion was really awesome, as was the bass.

because it was so inconceivably good, ill give it 10/10
i dont think this could get any better.

01-15-2007, 03:51 AM
