I'm startin this thread because the Chili Peppers were one of the most underappreciated bands of the 80's. Comparing their very first album to the Stadium Arcadium, the only vague similarity is Kiedis' voice, which is even extremely different. They were almost a completely different band then, and i feel they needed a thread in the 80's rock section.

You wont't hear better bass playin than Flea's and Hillel Slovak, Jack Sherman and John Frusciante(when he was more ballsy and all around better guitarist)all have unique but equally great playin styles.

So what do you people think of the 80's Chilis? And if you haven't had the pleasure of listening to any of these records, do yourself a favour and get them.

80's rock doesn't literally mean from the 80's.

RHCP threads go in modern rock.
