Chris Squire if he counts, or Jack Bruce, or John Entwisle, Maybe the Pink Floyd dude (If you count them Classic Rock).
Or so many others, you cant really say who is the MOST influential.

I usually see these names mentioned as some of the most influential (and best) bassists of this era...

Christ Squire - Yes
John Entwistle - The Who
John Paul Jones - Led Zeppelin
Jack Bruce - Cream
Geddy Lee - Rush
