Wasn't sure whether I should put this hear or in the Lyrics forum but.....

Who do you think were/are the greatest lyricists of music?

Personally I say Bob Marley, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Jim Morrison and......hm, I'm out for now.

Different genres have different lyric styles but my personal favorite is Kurt Cobain. He was the opposite of cliche. He flat out, made his point. Maybe it didn't make sense to us but it didnt matter. It was his heart singing, not only just to sound good or to rhyme for the hell of it. Another musician who will never be forgotten.
