Which hardcore guitarist do you think shreds the hardest? I'd really prefer it if you didn't say synister gates or dan jacobs. Id say the lead guitarist in my band because I genuinly think he's up there. :)

Herman Li or Yngwie

Gymmeh

Guitarist in a local band here shreds pretty hard.
Sweeps the whole ****ing fretboard like nothing and shit.

And you don't hear it much in their songs, but the guitarist from these guys:
http://www.myspace.com/thedaylightcurse

before
01-28-2007, 08:39 PM
Well, I don't really consider BTBAM to be "core" but alot of people on here do sooo. But yeah he's gotta be up there. And Thomas Erak(fan boy here lol) from The Fall of Troy.

Alexi Laiho, herman li, synyster gates,

ragebass89

First of all, Herman Li? Not exactly core. Or even remotely close. Anyway, my tops would probably be Corey Beaulieu and Synyster Gates.

Dragonforce is power metal, Children of Bodom are melodeath, Synyster Gates (what a joke of a name) sucks, Beaulieu I agree with.

Unearth's guitarists are very good, as are LoG's (note core in my book though).

According to the KsE DVD interviews, Joel can shred like crazy, but I haven't seen any of that in KsE's music.

GodofCheesecake
01-28-2007, 09:11 PM
i don't care who you prefer we dontt mention, synester gates is up there, even if he does have a stupid name... along with trivium and all that remains, and the dudes from unearth do some sweet sweep picking.

I can't believe that one jerkoff (no offense but I take things seriously, I'm sure you rock as a person ragebass) but HOW CAN YOU SAY SOMEONE FROM TRIVIUM IS BETTER THAN HERMAN LI. Thats like saying dirt tastes better than ice cream. And yes, Herman Li, Laiho, and Malmsteen don't belong in a hard/metal core thread

GodofCheesecake
01-28-2007, 09:25 PM
ibanez, he just said dragonforce isn't metal/hardcore. which they're not. they're power metal. he didn't say anyone was better than anyone.

Greg Ginn, just listen to the solo on Rise Above.

Some HARDCORE bands with good guitarists include Outbreak, Bad Brains, and Shipwreck.

There are a lot of great metalcore guitarists, but a lot of people overlook Converge (I'm not going to name one guitarist, they've had several). There isnt much shreddage (except for The Saddest Day), but the guitar work in that band is amazing.

MasterChadwick

Oli Herbert from All That Remains, Synyster Gates , Corey Beaulieu, and im gonna say it anyways... Dan Jacobs

But I'd agree with the guy from Psyopus being a good shredder. But the definition of shredder would be something along the lines of MEEDLY MEEDLY MEEDLY.

I saw a youtube video of him and I was absolutely stunned. He pretty much played the entire song without a pick. All tapping. Plus they're bassist is just as impressive.

It's not necciserily aussie bands (although i am big on alot of them) but I just sorta look on my friends ipods and make a list of the bands I like the sound of and go home and download them so colectively I end up having a shit load of awsome bands on my ipod. :) The best band you have im my opinion is The abandonment (http://www.myspace.com/theabandonment), they kick ass.

Haha. I can't say I agree they're the BEST, but the Abandoment are sick. As are the Rivalry.

All those bands that play together are nuts.

The amount of young kids coming out from Melbourne is amazing, too.

A band of 15-16 year olds around here are doing an Aussie tour and stuff. So good.
Josh, lead singer, has an amazing voice imo.

Loving the gigs, too.
