Another amazing piece by NovemberRain273.
And now for the crit:
The intro: Nice! loved the harmonised acoustics. Nothing negative to say really, but the first 3 bars sound a bit similar to the Flying in a Blue Dream acoustic part.
When the distortion guitar came in: Another excellent riff. Both guitars work really well together but the drums in bar 11 sound a little bit behind the rest of the instruments, but maybe thats just the RSE? I loved when the drums picked up in bar 18 onwards, it gave the song the drive needed.
You're melodies are great from bars 24-25.
The riff from bar 26-41: Awesome riff (how the hell do you come up with this stuff?!?), it sounds amazing, but i would suggest turning the bass up a bit during the rests to make them flow better, but other that that, it's perfect.
Bars 42-56: Don't know whether you were going for like a chorus or a solo but it definetely worked! Especially when you started harmonising it. Just Great!
The next acoustic part: Again, an awesome part. This is probably, musically the best part of the piece, great melodies, harmonies, drums, just everything fit together perfectly.
I'm not really a fan of when the distortion guitars play it though, but thats just my opinion.
I thought you're transitions to and from the different parts were amazing, i know how hard it is to go cleanly from acoustic to distortion but you done it like it was nothing. Truely amazing.

damn good man. i think in barr 11. 13 and 15 you should sustain the last note in the last bar, a bit like battery by metallica. otherwise really good

Wow that was really good the lead melodys sounded great the riffs were cool. I liked the way the acoustic came back in the middle to add some contrast to the song But still sounded like it belonged there.

Great Song 9/10

Excellent
I love the acoustic stuff and the distortion riffs as well
The only change I would make is to maybe add a solo, but even without one its amazing

Alright I have an updated version up now. I added about a minute to the song, a interlude type thing and an epic outro.

I have hardly any qualms about this song, mate. Though there was a bar in the acoustic intro which I'm not to sure about, It made me think, which is a good thing but I could help but wonder if there might have been a few wrong notes in there. Intended or no?

Either way keep doing what your doing, your great at composing this sort of stuff. If you quit I'll eat my hat :D

I'm looking for some serious opinions on writing a decent lead riff, I want something that creates interesting harmonies, both normal and even dissonant in places. Cheer if you do crit it.

man you cant touch your songs on bass, ussually i mess around with everyones bass but damn son...i learn your songs on bass lawl :peace:

Intro:
I love the intro, its got a nice feel and its sorta creepy then it busts into the distortion and the riff goes so well with the acoustic and it sounds great
The Rest:
Once again, amazing riffage on bass and guitar, it had many many influences i could tell, like everyone was saying in flames and i heard some maiden in there two the nice slow solo with the acoustic background was great, and the leads were to die for, the only thing that dissapounted (bad speller ha) me about this was the lack of amazing novemberrain273 really friggin awsome guitar solo, but thats the only thing

Hope you do record it mate - it's brilliant. Love the acoustic start, the rests really help the effect - nice to see. Not sure about the chord between bars 8-9 - little bit out of key - good that you're trying it but i'm not totally sure if it works here...maybe it grows on you. Great second riff, again nicely harmonised. Bar 16 works very well - good little run-down. Just noticed the bass as well - subtly done, makes a good addition and yet doesn't stand out - perfect. One small thing here is the crescendo-ed notes - maybe make them longer so the effect is more drawn out, would add a more epic feel (35 & 37) - very minor thing though. Again, the acoustic part is beautifully written, but tone the drum volume down a bit or just have hi-hat tapping to complement it. Loving the little thrash-y riff from 126, makes a good change from the harmonised sections, and a very good outro - fade out is perfect.

Brilliant, some of the best work I've seen on here.

This would work really well as an instrumental. I love the acoustic intro, and I love all of the distortion riffs. Being a beginner, there isn't much negative stuff I can say about this. The drums was damn near perfect for this song, all the guitar parts worked in harmony. The only thing I can think of is the bars 34-41, the fading notes n the background would have probably sounded better if they weren't crescendoing. Other than that it sounded great! The thrashy riff had to be my favorite, I love all of your songs, and this is another great addition.

Very good! I loved the intro! All the leads worked perfectly especially the part with volume swelling notes! The only thing I can say is that it got pretty predictable after a while, because it repeats the same riff (or notes) a little too much... .
great song : 9/10

This rules! I can see you have influences from Opeth and In Flames I think :D All the riffs are absolutely amazing, man. When I think deeper this really sounds like In Flames or Dark Tranquility :O I hope you make more of these :) 10/10

Ah... another NovemberRain song... let's see how this one is.

The acoustic intro is alright.

Holy crap. I was just listening to Ayreon, and the distortion riff kind of sounds like something they would make... I've only been listening for them for 2 days so... yeah... Pretty good.

Love the drums at bar 18.

Yeah, seriously the bass is amazing during the solo. The solo is amazing too.

The acoustic solo isn't too bad at bar 94.

I liked bar 126...

Aw, that's it?

I was hoping for another Pyreflies.

Some of it got kind of repetitive, but most of it was still great.

8.7/10
