Hey guys. What was yours? Mine's was a Lotus Strat Copy.

03-29-2007, 03:19 PM
My first own one was an Ibanez which I'm still playing.
I played some on my dad's Epiphone earlier.

03-29-2007, 03:22 PM
an Epiphone, I smashed about a year ago because something went wrong with the wiring and I was to lazy to fix the damn thing.

03-29-2007, 03:23 PM
My first one was a squire, i still play it when im at home. Never use it for gigs.

03-29-2007, 03:25 PM

and still using it

03-29-2007, 03:25 PM
this black Encore one, i've had it 5-6 months now. picked it up with a load of discounted and free stuff thrown in too, so that was nice.

03-29-2007, 03:33 PM
A strat/jaguar mix copy which belonged to my father made by an Argentine company called 'Fratti.'

03-29-2007, 03:33 PM
:headbang: Ibanez GSA60 :headbang:

I still use it. My only electric guitar.

03-29-2007, 03:34 PM
Just because it's your first guitar doesn't mean it has to be a cheap POS.

03-29-2007, 03:35 PM
Used Fender Standard Strat.

An amazing first guitar

03-29-2007, 03:37 PM
A shitty little Sears Nova, it startedas my brothers but he gave up on guitar and I picked it up a few years later and started. I think it's like 10 or 11 years old now, and I've had it repaired a few times. Pick ups are shot and the sound quailty is brutal but I still play it all the time. Makes a good practice guitar.

03-29-2007, 03:39 PM
I put first act just becuse it was from walmart but it was a rok axe

03-29-2007, 03:42 PM

Silvertone FTW

my first bass was a Peavy Patriot though

03-29-2007, 04:21 PM
Some cheap-o red Ibanez... Ya kno the whole Jumpstart package. I played it for bout a year then got a Fender Highway 1 Strat (which is my go to guitar now). The Ibanez pretty much gathers dust now (kinda sad).

03-29-2007, 04:24 PM
A blue indiana guitar.

03-29-2007, 04:25 PM
First guitar I owned was a Tradition Fat Strat.

I need to restring that puppy and bust it out.

03-29-2007, 04:27 PM

03-29-2007, 04:28 PM

Godin SDXT Flame maple top, I named her Justine.

03-29-2007, 04:34 PM
Jackson JS30Ke Kelly.

03-29-2007, 04:40 PM
A Jay Turser strat copy. Ive had it for 5 years now and it has taken a beating from me and my brothers and manages to still be awesome.

03-29-2007, 04:40 PM
lol, a gigging squire makes me laughWhy? I'm replacing the pups, pots, and some hardware on my Squier, and am going to use it now and then live. Is that funny somehow?

03-29-2007, 05:05 PM
Fender MIM Strat. Still use it and am saving for another guitar. :D

03-29-2007, 05:09 PM
Pacifica man myself.

03-29-2007, 05:11 PM
Why? I'm replacing the pups, pots, and some hardware on my Squier, and am going to use it now and then live. Is that funny somehow?

Don't get all offended man, let's keep UG happy.

I find it odd too. Because I have made enough money from one gig to buy a squire.

So. . .

03-29-2007, 06:00 PM
Dodgy third hand ashton. Never been able to find one on the net, i think its pretty unique.

03-29-2007, 06:27 PM
sigh i used a behringer strat copy...but now it has SD's in it :D

06-05-2007, 12:24 AM
Mine was a Harmony LP copy. It wasn't as bad as it sounds. I don't remember what happened to it. I think I gave it to a friend.

Jack Off Jill
06-05-2007, 12:25 AM
Gibson SG. :) I played solely on my acoustic before I saved all my money to buy the SG.

06-05-2007, 12:26 AM
Gibson Sonex 180 Custom

But it has a homemade rebuilt oak body.

VERY VERY VERY long story of why. But it's still the same guitar except for teh body, which is still a great body. It still basically looks like a usual Sonex, just no paint.

Invader Jim
06-05-2007, 12:41 AM
My very first electric was my friend's dad's cherry red 1969 Harmony Rocket (a semi-hollow Les Paul copy).

EDIT: Hey i_spaid1988, is your name Sam?

06-05-2007, 01:09 AM

06-05-2007, 01:37 AM

06-05-2007, 01:38 AM
An Austin strat which the body of is currently hanging in my closet...

06-05-2007, 01:41 AM

06-05-2007, 01:43 AM
Gibson Les Paul Studio

06-05-2007, 01:45 AM
well u know how fender has squier and gibson has epiphone? well hammer guitars make cheaper models called slammers, but suprisingly its not bad, it was an LP copy that i still play live with, the only thing ive had to get replaced on it was the toggle switch which cost like 8 bucks total, haha. i even use factory pick ups in this thing. i accutly really love this guitar and will never get rid of it.

06-05-2007, 01:49 AM
Ibanez RG 270.

Still play it, but I swear to god it kills cords. I've been through 3 in 3 months.

06-05-2007, 01:49 AM
in malta about 90% of beginners use strats, its pissing me off, im serious if i see another strat im going to cut off someones balls off....
Squiers are winning hehe :p:

Jesse Mrau
06-05-2007, 02:03 AM
Gretsch Syncromatic Les Paul copy.

06-05-2007, 02:07 AM
Epiphone SG. Got it second hand. The previous owner gave me a strap with it, that smelled like he pissed on it before he gave it to me.

06-05-2007, 02:13 AM
First act, I have two and some little practice amp. One of em my little sister took the screws out from around the pickup and I can't get the springs back in. So the pickup wobbles other than that they sound like complete ****. Yeah I'm the farthest thing from rich. As soon as I'm old enough to get a job I'll have a better rig but until then it's me, my first acts, and a 4 watt practice amp..

06-05-2007, 02:55 AM
'72 tele custom reissue, and still spankin' the hell outta that plank

06-05-2007, 04:48 AM

06-05-2007, 04:53 AM
squire, was not a pleasant experience

06-05-2007, 04:54 AM
Don't get all offended man, let's keep UG happy.

I find it odd too. Because I have made enough money from one gig to buy a squire.

So. . .

So, your guitar paid itself off in one night. That's a good thing. You play fancy guitars for the same money he plays crap for. You sound to have been cheated.

06-05-2007, 04:56 AM
An Encore Lp copy, it's no longer with us :(

06-05-2007, 05:22 AM
I remember mine was a Harmony brand guitar. It had a double cutaway body design and two single coil pick-ups (Bridge and Neck). I still play it, it still has a nice thick tone. Although it is a bolt-on neck and the action is somewhat terrible, it's fun to play on occasion.

06-05-2007, 05:46 AM
Yamaha Pacifica, still use it, I love it

06-05-2007, 05:48 AM
A DeVille Les Paul copy(second hand). It's supposed to be a 2 pickup Black Beauty, but the gold colour has come off the pickups, bridge, stopbar, and the tuners. But not all of it. So it now looks as **** as it sounds.
Actually, it doesn't look that bad.

Deathcore Dude
06-05-2007, 05:50 AM
mine was a squier strat....

06-05-2007, 07:34 AM
I learned on any one of my uncle's giant Gibson collection, usually one of the LP customs or SG. At the time I didn't realise how lucky I was. He died, most of his guitars got sold, now I have his 2 Squiers (Strat and Tele) and and acoustic Epiphone. :(

06-05-2007, 07:39 AM
My personal first guitar was/is an ESP/LTD M-50, still got it (it's my only guitar at the minute) and I still use it all the time.

My first electric I played, I borrowed from my school. It was a strat-copy, made by 'Stagg'.....it is the biggest load of shyte i have ever played.

06-05-2007, 07:39 AM
An Ernie Ball OLP MM-1.

06-05-2007, 07:40 AM
Stagg Strat copy.

06-05-2007, 07:51 AM
I bought a floyd rose for 100$ from a friend of my brothers. I ****ed the bridge on it though and havent replaced it yet =(

06-05-2007, 07:52 AM
Ibanez RG321... still using it...

06-05-2007, 08:16 AM
Dean ML '79

Edit: I did have a no brand right handed crappy guitar that a mate crudely repaired that I gave away after a month of trying to play. It kept on cutting out, wouldnt stay in tune and me being a lefty.......). It put me off learning for 15 years. I picked up the left handed Dean in a clearence sale. It maybe not the best guitar in the world but when I see her on the stand I want to pick it up and play :p:

06-05-2007, 10:49 AM
Yamaha Pacifica, still use it, I love it

Those things are awesome! My mate got rid of his when he bought his Jay Turser Les Paul...

06-05-2007, 10:54 AM
mine was a squire strata. However i now have epiphone, so i use the fender at practice and my epi at home.

06-05-2007, 10:58 AM
:headbang: Ibanez GSA60 :headbang:

I still use it. My only electric guitar.

i love this guitar it is awesome

06-05-2007, 11:01 AM
Standard Strat :) shall always been a good guitar but I love my RG soooo much more

06-05-2007, 03:42 PM
Squier Fat Strat. Still use it for practising without an amp since my Epi LP sounds **** acoustic. Then again I question whether or not this is a genuine epi lp.

06-05-2007, 03:47 PM
Stagg. It stopped intonating properly at some point and I decided to trash it a bit.

It looks even better since I burned it a load, then melted Dr.Pepper and Pepsi logos into it.

06-05-2007, 04:12 PM
Epiphone G400 with a Gibson 490R pickup in the neck position.

it has crazy low action.. perfect intonation.. a great buy methinks. if I'd play it more I would like to invest in some new pots, pickups and wires, then it would be superb. it now collects dust at my brothers, I let him use it if I could borrow his squire affinity :)

Guitar God Rob
06-05-2007, 04:22 PM
A crappy epiphone, which i love it dearly.

06-05-2007, 04:22 PM
Yamaha Pacifica 010, and still playing it now :)

06-05-2007, 04:24 PM
my first guitar was an Epiphone G-400, before that i was borrowing something that i have no idea what it is... i still have it too... it's some superstrat with "Celebrity" written on the headstock (Ovation perhaps?) and "KMD-110" on the pickups and tremolo.

06-05-2007, 04:25 PM
Mine was an Ibanez RG370DX......then I put some EMG's in it.........love it to this day

06-05-2007, 04:26 PM
A behringer guitar that came with an amp as a starter pack, got it as an 18th birthday present.

The first one i actually bought was a squier showmaster.

06-05-2007, 04:43 PM
Mark II strat copy ftl

06-05-2007, 04:47 PM
Mine was a piece of ****. Its not even a proper brand.
Don't care now i have an Ibanez though.

Soul Power
06-05-2007, 04:47 PM
One of those Ibanez starter packs.

06-05-2007, 04:51 PM
A Squier '51, which I still play..and it will be a looong time before i get enough money to buy another one...

06-05-2007, 06:14 PM
Lol, Honer 'rockwood' s*rat ripoff, looks like this now cos i got bored with a sander and a soldering iron.

mr moustache
06-05-2007, 06:27 PM

06-05-2007, 06:29 PM
Yamaha EG 112. Still play it, though I changed the hardware, pickups and re-painted it.

06-05-2007, 06:31 PM
A piece of crap called a "Crafter Junior" or something like that.

Worth 90

European Son
06-05-2007, 06:41 PM
I used to have:

Now I have...

I'm amazed how much better that guitar looks in reality. :p:

(And yes, a good oppurtunity to brag about my guitar. :p: )

06-05-2007, 07:27 PM
A Jay Turser. Yay!!.......

I still play it though.

06-05-2007, 07:28 PM
crate ftw!

06-05-2007, 07:29 PM
A Strat.....

06-05-2007, 07:35 PM
I've been using the same damn squire for 2 and a half years. It has no tuning stability, no sustain, the input jack is held on with duct tape, the bridge is held in place with a stratigically placed block of plastic, and the neck has pulled a pretzel act.

07-10-2007, 06:33 AM
I had two guitars given to me by a friend who moved to FL. One was a Eko Strat type body made in Italy the other was a Electric Hollow body Harmony that I wish I never smashed. I forget whatever happened to the Eko.

goth clash
07-10-2007, 06:35 AM
Mine was a Vintage SG copy. It was really nice but i grew out of it eventually and sold it for more than it was worth and got my ESP.

07-10-2007, 07:59 AM

Toms' anominous
07-10-2007, 08:02 AM
Squier affinity still use it, twas a jem amongst the rough.

07-10-2007, 08:17 AM
Mine was a Squier Strat. It's old and knackered but still sounds surprisingly good.

07-10-2007, 08:19 AM
Peavy raptor and that thing was the shiz baby. but i broke a string and dont feel like restringing it. I upgraded to an epiphone sg. HUGE upgrade rite? :P

07-10-2007, 08:21 AM
mine is a cheap behringer strat copy. however it works perfect and im still playing it for 1 year now.

07-10-2007, 08:28 AM
first was a squire strat (which i sold like 10 years ago) my new "first electric guitar" (for round 2 of learning to play) is a gibson les paul.

07-10-2007, 09:08 AM
Fender Tele Standard...It's the only electric that I own, and I love it.

07-10-2007, 09:32 AM
Squier Bullet was the first one I owned.

07-10-2007, 09:35 AM
Mine was a Behringer pack-set kinda thing.
Came with an amp, guitar, strings and a strap.
It was ****e mind, it was like 2 pieces of wood nailed together.
And then I got an Ibanez :D

07-10-2007, 09:39 AM
Fender Squier Strat, still using it (it's only been 1 year 1/2)

07-10-2007, 09:43 AM
squier fat strat.

07-10-2007, 09:45 AM
Mine was a Behringer pack-set kinda thing.
Came with an amp, guitar, strings and a strap.
It was ****e mind, it was like 2 pieces of wood nailed together.
And then I got an Ibanez :D

Ya, I had the same guitar, the strings were like 1 meter above the neck.

I think it's safe to say that the Behringer V-tone guitar is the worst guitar ever made.

07-10-2007, 09:46 AM
Epiphone SG G-400. My first and only guitar, and I love it.

07-10-2007, 09:51 AM
I gig my squier, Considering its my only guitar

07-10-2007, 10:05 AM
Encore Strat. Got it second hand. Its a pretty decent guitar, not like the ****ty starters they make nowadays.

colm c
07-10-2007, 10:14 AM
Encore P90 les paul rip off!! sucked balls!!

07-10-2007, 10:15 AM
squire strat. still got it, but I never play it.

07-10-2007, 10:17 AM
Mine was a Peavy Raptor Plus EXP.

07-10-2007, 10:18 AM
Abilene Strat-copy. Still sounds awesome, even though I spray painted the pickguard chrome and it flakes off in my eyes when I play sometimes.

07-10-2007, 10:25 AM
A fender mexican strat with a humbucker in the bridge position. I had to play a crappy acoustic for sooo long

07-10-2007, 10:50 AM
Fender mex strat HSS. my second guitar now behind my jaguar.

07-10-2007, 03:32 PM
Started out on an ugly guitar my Dad had. Don't have it anymore, don't even remember the brand. But MY first electric was given to me on my 7th birthday. A Cort Strat-copy, and I still play it today. Great guitar.

07-10-2007, 03:33 PM
Peavey Raptor.

Edit: well my first guitar was en electric/acoustic and it was an ibanez tallman intercity.

but my first real electric was a peavey

07-10-2007, 03:34 PM

07-10-2007, 03:34 PM
squier telecaster custom

07-10-2007, 03:39 PM
A shite Excel Stratocaster. That was almost 7 years ago.

07-10-2007, 03:39 PM
Some sh*t Strat copy that had "Barracuda" on the headstock.

07-10-2007, 03:55 PM
my godin sd. it's the only electric i've owned and i still love it to death. it's really modded though. 11 gauge strings, seymour duncan pearly gates in the bridge, jb jr. in the neck, hopefully a lace sensor in the middle soon. i'm looking to put a left handed bridge on it too. right now i'm torn between saving my money for an epiphone casino or going all out for the ibanez s prestige.

07-10-2007, 03:58 PM
a squier mini..

i know.

i was only in 3rd grade. its cool to practice stage moves with though...

Holy Katana
07-10-2007, 03:59 PM
Epiphone G-310.

It's still my only electric.

07-10-2007, 03:59 PM
this probably shouldn't be a poll..

mine was a tanglewood strat copy, I slapped a seymour duncan hot rail up in that bitch a few months later.. awesome bang for my buck.

07-10-2007, 04:02 PM
A green Johnson Del Mar Strat-copy starter kit, it was actually really good.

07-10-2007, 04:08 PM
mine was a first act strat model. yeah i know

07-10-2007, 04:16 PM
Fender Stratocaster, 50th Annivesary Edition.

07-10-2007, 09:54 PM
First Act.
I still play it on occasion, it's got a bit of a twangy sound. I removed the tone pot and put a Buckethead-type killswitch in and the switch doesn't work, so I'm stuck on the neck pup and its dead and buzzes on the bridge pup. It's alright for cleans or light distortion. Missing a high E and the rest are really dirty case they rust super bad when left in the case more than a few hours Dx

07-10-2007, 09:56 PM
it's a red Johnson. It plays pretty well.

07-10-2007, 10:25 PM
gibson isnt on there. my first was/is a 1959 gibson es-125 that i found n my grandpas basement. just picked it up, started playing it, he let me have it, i took it home. i only started playing 6 months ago to >=-)

07-10-2007, 10:44 PM

lucky SoB, i am gonna find you and steal that thing... jk, but you are SO d@mn lucky.
mine was some sh1tty ibanez starter pack... isj20 or something like that. GAX body but worse, crappy neck, horrible p/ups, and don't get me started on the frets or the setup from the factory...

07-10-2007, 10:47 PM
Jackson JS30

It's a good guitar.. I still play it sometimes.

07-10-2007, 11:17 PM
