Started lessons last week and my guitar teacher is the S**T. He is 37 and has been playing since he was 12. He has been playing as long as i've been alive. He started playing Metal when it was building off its roots in the early 80's. In 2000 he went down to the hills of Hazard County, Kentucky to learn bluegrass. He described how crazy fast the banjo pickers in the south are. He has been in and out of bands for years. He currently resides in a cover band in Lafayette named Ezra. He also learned a lot of blues here recently. First impressions seem to me that i'm going to get along really well and progress at a rate that i want. So, please share how cool your teacher is!

I don't go to lessons anymore, but my teacher's name was Dan, and he's amazing at the guitar, plays a ton of metal and blues, mostly cannibal corpse it seems. Only he grumpy if he didn't go outside and have a smoke every 30 minutes...

I only started formal lessons a few weeks ago, my grandfather was the first guitarist in the army band, my uncle played professionaly with leon russle, everyone in my family has the guitar gene, i never got into it, i went with drums. Recently i picked up a bass and have progressed at almost tripple the rate anyone else i have seen has. i guess its in my blood too :)
But formally my teacher is Trent, hes 17, he has been playing since he was 3, he is younger than me but he knows what he is doing, and i have found more that we are teaching each other alot in our practice sessions, actually i have been teaching him just as much about drumming as he has taught me about the bass. either way, Trent is badassed, and im happy i signed up for his lessons.

I think I'm a pretty cool teacher, I teach kids from my school for free : P
My instructor, Micah Mata, is very good. He won my local area Guitarmageddon a few years ago and thats how I met him. He played one of the solos to Blitzkrieg by Yngwie behind his back, caught my attention lol!

I took lessons from a guy for just over a year until his dad died. This guy was 18, and an incredible guitar player. I just played with him a few days ago, first time in over a year, and we jammed for 2 hours. It was truly amazing to see this guy, 19 years old having a tough time in his life to play that guitar like he did. We pulled out a real book (anyone that knows jazz knows what those are) and played through lots of standards taking turns soloing through the whole thing while the other person comps like a madman.

My teacher's this half african american and half hispanic guy named Anthony Postman. He specializes in reggae and ska, but he's also really good with blues and jazz and is easily the best person on the planet. He's a great teacher and a fun and cool guy to be around.

My teacher is awesome. He's 30 something. He's in 2 bands, one cover and one original and has a record deal with some place. So far I've been with him for 3 months and I can feel great improvement. Plus I asked him how to play Halo 2 theme song. And now he's tabbing it for me. :P

My bass guitar teacher is Levi Douma. Anyone who might know "The Cool Waters Band" he was their bassist. I always have a ton of fun with him, we learn some theory, then song fragments and end with a jam session. Some seriously awesome stuff. It's a shame he's gonna be gone from now until next fall.

Dang, all these teachers seem pretty awesome. I'm about to switch cause my teacher just doesn't care. I go in for a hour lesson, that usually only lasts 30 minutes, look at a few of the licks in Crazy Train and then go home. I'm actually getting better on my on than learning from him.

My Teacher is Mark Boden. From Middlesbrough (Like Me) and tutors in my school. He also does it privately. He is awesome. Think of any guitarist and he is faster than them, his phrasing is better. He is the best guitarist I have ever encounted, he plays every style and very well and is also graded as the best guitar tutor in the North of England according to RGT. He plays flamenco as some people may know takes 15 years study and he's done 5. He has been playing since he was 14 and the only bad thing about him is that he shows off, all the time! but its kinda cool as well when you've got someone sat next to you shredding like I dont know what. Nevertheless he can still play slow stuff and is good with his theory. He likes all good bands and is comstantly telling us how bad the bad ones are. and he told me about the guitarist Stanley Jordan. If you don't know who Stanley Jordan is, tap him in on youtube. Be amazed!

My guitar teacher is called James Finnigan. He plays classical, rock and jazz, but he was in a rock band called Stiltskin as the bassist for a while. They released a song called Inside, it was used in an advertisement at one point. He's accomplished more than I ever will and is still an incredibly down to earth guy. he rocks! \m/
