Have your hands ever started hurting while you're playing? Do your hands tire out quickly? Are there some things that are just too hard to play? If so, you will want to give this lesson a serrious try. We will work through stretches, endurance and finger streigthening excercises in this lesson.

It is very important to stretch before attempting this lesson. For good stretches, check out a lesson on warming up.

First, we'll start off with possibly the most well known exercise on the planet. There is a reason why this is such a popular excersice... it works.

Now lets try some stretches.

NOTE: IF YOU CAN'T DO THE STRETCHES AT THE 1st FRET, MOVE TO THE 5th FRET AND WORK YOU WAY DOWN TO THE FIRST FRET.

Use 1st and 2nd fingers, then 2nd and 3rd fingers and finally 3rd and 4th fingers.

OK hotshot, that was easy right? Well now it gets hard. You might just find yourseld going back to the 5th fret and having to work your way down. Don't worry, there's no shame in this. It is more effective to play it correctly at the 5th fret than to play it sloppy at the 1st fret. But remember to work your way down.

Using the same fingering and pattern, shift 1 fret up the neck and start the excersise on the 2nd fret. Repeat this process untill you get all the wat to the 12th fret. Once you reach the 12 fret, work your way down one fret at a time the same way you climbed up the fretboard.

Using the same fingering and pattern, shift 1 fret up the neck and start the excersise on the 2nd fret. Repeat this process untill you get all the wat to the 12th fret. Once you reach the 12 fret, work your way down one fret at a time the same way you climbed up the fretboard.

Finally, lets wind down with a excersece that contains some shalanging add9 chords and sound musical (unlike the other exercises).

If the stretch is too much, do the same exercise but start on the 7th fret.

Hold the chords down with all 4 fingers and let the notes wring. Don't roll your fingers like you would when sweep picking. Don't play it really fast either. Just moderatly.

Do this lesson daily for 2-4 weeks and I guatantee that your playing will improve noticably . When I first came up with some of these exercises, I was IMEDIATLY a better guitar player!!! I hope these will do the same for you. Please vote&comment!
