What is the easiest way to play a Bm chord? I was looking around for a way to play it open position, but I couldn't find an easy way.

I don't really think there is a an easy open way, I play it with index barred on 5th string and 1st string, 2nd fret, middle on 2nd string 3rd fret, ring on 4th string and 4th fret, and pinky on 3rd string and 4th fret.

E2
B3
G4
D4
A2
E

Like that.

A or E type barre

or

e-2
B-0
G-2 (or mute it if you don't want the 7 in the chord)
D-0
A-2
E

if it's the barre you're having trouble with, just play it like this:

e----
b--3-
g--4-
d--4-
a--2-
e----

it's basically the same thing as the regular ol' barre B minor, but you don't have to actually use your index finger to barre anything. just use the tip of your index finger to get the B (second fret, a string) and so on like you are playing the barre chord. the note you are playing on the high e string by barring with your index finger is the fifth (F#) and you're already getting that note in there with your ring finger on the d string.

is this the lazy man's way? yes. but hey, it should be easier for you if it's the barre you're having trouble with. it is still important to learn the full barre chord though!

A - x
E - x

I have some chord chart that tell me to make a B minor chord like this:

-2-
-3-
-4-
-4-
-x-
-x-

which is really just playing it in an aminor bar chord, but without barring across the low 2 strings as well, i find it just as easy (and it sounds better) to fully barre the chord, but you can play that one just usign your 4 fingertips without the barring, which is alot easier on your fingers

Just force yourself to learn the barre now. There's no reason to postpone learning how to barre. Start off by getting a clean sound with just the index barring just 4 strings across the neck, then proceed to 5 and then 6. Then add the othe rfingers :)

B minor you're supposed to play barred.

It is 'F' barre down one string. Yeah Learn them 'F' 'Bm' & 'B' are the most usefull finger shapes you will ever learn on a guitar IMO

^ missed what you were saying at first... Right:

F is 133211

Bm is x24432

Yes it is the finger shape of the chord/s im talking. The most usefull chord shape. Anywhere on the neck (any fret)
