Im not sure where this would go so i put it in my natural habitat :p:

im looking to start a solo acoustic covers side project and i have a list of songs that i play in my spare time, i look to play metal songs (strange paradox i know but it will make sense) and songs with a real meaning or interesting sound i also play alot of staples that i may want to trim off, so i am asking the adivce of UG to suggest which songs should i keep or discard

Bother- Stone sour
Working class hero- John Lennon (but in the key green day use)
Harvest- Opeth
Journeyman- Iron Maiden
Can i play with madness- Iron Maiden
Wish you were here- Pink Floyd
Welcome to the Machine- Pink floyd
Breathe- Pink Floyd (i would be putting the reprise on the end)
Us and Them- Pink Floyd
Brain Damage/eclipse- Pink FLoyd (if i decide to keep this it will be my big finish)
Dont look back in Anger- Oasis
Through Glass- Stone Sour
Nothing else matters- Metallica
Descecration Smile- RHCP
SHe moves in her own way- The kooks
Hey Joe- Jimi Hendrix
Time of your life- Green Day (because i can, i am definately dropping this
The drugs dont work- The verve
You know my name- Chris Cornell
Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd
Hotel California- The Eagles
Fade to Black- Metallica
All along the Watchtower- Bob Dylan/Hendrix
House of the rising sun- Animals
KArate- Tenasious D
Tatu- All the things she said
Motorhead- God was never on your side
Freebird- Lynryd Skynyrd

I want 10 songs, i will go as far as 15 though

people of UG, you decide :D

Get rid of freebird, that song gets old fast. The only time anyone should play it is when someone yells 'freebird!' and only then can you play the intro before you must stop. It's common courtesy, nobody actually WANTS to hear it. Keep the Dylan and the Floyd(Eclipse is my fave from your list), for sure. Also, drop the RHCP song. I just can't stand that song, or anything from the second half of either new CD. gah. my two cents, enjoy.

I'd say get rid of working class hero if you want to credit john lennon cuz stupid people will think you're playing green day. And that is bad.

Bother- Stone sour
Can i play with madness- Iron Maiden
Wish you were here- Pink Floyd
Through Glass- Stone Sour
Nothing else matters- Metallica
Hey Joe- Jimi Hendrix (I'd say something like Little Wing because loads of people play this song)
The drugs dont work- The verve
Hotel California- The Eagles
Fade to Black- Metallica
All along the Watchtower- Bob Dylan/Hendrix
House of the rising sun- Animals
Karate- Tenasious D

That's what I would do from that list (maybe a different song from The D like the road or a more known one such as Tribute or Wonderboy)
