so the new setlist is(with no specific order)

-Civil War-Gn'R
-Nothing else matters-Metallica
-Wherever i may roam-Metallica
-Enter sandman-Metallica
-Bark at the moon-Ozzy Oxbourne
-Creep-Radiohead
-Canon rock-Jerry c
-Heartbreaker-Led zeppelin
-Down to mexico-Paul Gilbert
-Hump de bump-RHCP
-Especially in michigan-RHCP
-Dani California-RHCP
-Cant stop-RHCP
-Charlie-RHCP
-By the way-RHCP
-Otherside-RHCP

so, yeah its alot of chillies, but im kinda doing this for 2 reasons:

Should open with Can't Stop, I think, and I like the Zeppelin choice.

Edit: Prolly not want to play all the RHCP songs, and Metallica songs in a row

Why not start a RHCP tribute band? If not, make sure you mix the set up so you're not playing too many songs by the same band in a row.

Gotta echo what's already been said: Open with Can't Stop (great opening riff to get the crowd excited) and break up the RHCP and Metallica. At very least make it not in a massive block like that, and preferably get some other songs to break things up further.

I agree with ^ save Hump De Bump for later in the set.

if its gona be a real fun gig, rather than slower and more srs, then im agreeign with the drummer, hump de bump would be sik.but otherwise, definately cant stop. but the best song ever to open a gig is how long, by hinder.

Metallica covered the song. Diamond Head has the original.

heres what your setlist should look like i think
-Cant stop-RHCP (while vocals our going out flow into by the way)
-By the way-RHCP
Talk a little bit
-Heartbreaker-Led zeppelin
-Down to mexico-Paul Gilbert
-Nothing else matters-Metallica
Introduce the band (while introducing have the dani california drum beat and bass. then when down guitar will come in on the 1 count)
-Dani California-RHCP
-Canon rock-Jerry c
-Charlie-RHCP
-Otherside-RHCP
-Creep-Radiohead
-Wherever i may roam-Metallica
-Enter sandman-Metallica
-Bark at the moon-Ozzy Ozbourne
-Civil War-Gn'R
-Enter sandman-Metallica
-Hump de bump-RHCP

How long are you playing for? That's a pretty long set, I'd think about cutting out some of the filler songs, or just play the better known ones to keep the audience interested.

I agree with starting with 'Can't Stop' because it'd got that nice buildup with the drums and that riff and whatnot.

Make sure you close with something very well known, like By the Way or Otherside or something, maybe Creep- I don't know, just some suggestions.

I wouldn't close with Hump De Bump, but that's a personal thing because it annoys me. I think floyd matt had a good idea, introducing the band while playing the Dani California intro.

Good luck.

*thumbs up*
