i kicked out my bands bass player and i know 1 other bassist...what should he know or do to be a good bass player with us...i dont really know anything about bass so all you bassists, this ones for you...

He should be able to play his instrument, and he should like the same/similar music as you guys. Have him over for a jam session to see if things will click.

- (S)He needs to at least be willing to listen to your kind of music, and if (s)he likes it, even better.
- Playing a bass means at least knowing what root notes to play, and even better would be if (s)he knows how the neck is build up, knowing octave figures etc.
- The way of playing must simply be good.

They should like your sort of music, get along with you, and you should like what you hear when they play.
