just a quick question:

i'm looking at these pickups: link (http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Pickups:_Guitar,_electric/2/Golden_Age_Pickups.html#details)

it says "2-conductor for dual or single coil output, i'd just like to know if this is the same as a pickup listed as a 4-wire humbucker? because i'm going to be connecting humbuckers to a on/on/on DPDT for series/parallel/single coil use on one of my mod projects (i have 2 squiers that i don't use much :p: )

also are these good pickups? The guitar i'm planning on getting them for is a Squier custom Telecaster.

yes it's a telecaster, but it's already got humbuckers (HH), so don't say anything about blasphemy or the guitar not being routed for humbuckers...

dude! it has the wiring diagrams shipped with it AND theres a link to them from that page. look here (http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_pickups/Pickups:_Guitar,_electric/2/Golden_Age_Pickups/Instructions/I-GOLDEN-AGE.html#details)!

i know... :confus: i just wanted to know if "2 conductor" is the same as "4 wire" and if the pickups were any good.

2-conductor usually means one wire- hot in the middle, ground around the outside.

ok. so it's not what i'm looking for? i need a 4 wire for series/parallel/split and a reverse phase switch on 1 of the coils (its called "un-necessary" but i have my reasons).

well i'm probably gonna get GFS pickups from guitarfetish.com now, they are more specific in letting me know that they are the kind of humbuckers i'm looking for :D plus they are a little cheaper.

Someone already answered your question. Tubaboy is thinking of a single conductor.

The Golden Age pickups come with three wire. One is hot, one is ground and one is for coil splitting. It does the same thing as splitting a 4-conductor with less wires coming from the pickup.
