hey i have been wondering exactly what effects john frusciante uses on stage
i know, the board is 6 ****ing feet long and its hard to name every single effect
but like if anyone knows the main stuff he uses, like put a list down. PMing me would be better for this, and if you can give some estimated prices too of this stuff, thanks

I've posted the stuff you'd want. It might take a while, cos my computers a bit pissy. So expect the post in a bit.

Outdated.

This is pretty much all he uses (mostly):

EHX Big Muff (now a Muff'n)

Boss DS-2

Ibanez WH-10

Line 6 DL4

Roland CE-1

He used to have a vintage MXR Phase 90, but now uses a Moog 12 step phaser

EHX Holy Grail

Thats fine. With those, you'd have enough to play pretty much all of his songs. I doubt all the low pass and high pass filters and all that would really alter his tone majorly when he switches them on, thought they do play a big part in his tone. You could do without them though.

he also uses an MXR micro amp :D

and all those effects would cost you more than your own house...

EDIT: to the guy above..........:haha:haha:haha

Ah yeah, but thats only for more output from his pickups, seeing as they are vintage.

Nah, the gain knob controls the output of his pickups.

no it's to drive his amps harder
it gets him the not quite clean sound but not distorted

but you're not gonna get his studio sound with his live set up. he uses much more stuff (mutron and whatever) and many different techniques. i wonder how he gets his guitar's signal through all those pedals without much signal loss.

He uses these pedals that make sure the signal isn't lost. I'm not sure what it is. He also has some true bypass boxes too.

his amps are cranked wicked loud
he has 2 50 watt stacks and a 200 watt stack
i think that more than compensates

That's what the previously mentioned micro amp is for. They boost your line level when your running through a **** ton of pedals.

I think he still records on analog tapes and vintage gear, so yea his studio tone isn't something your going to be able to emulate perfectly
