For stock guitars, maybe Gretsch.

I'm not including customized guitars (only mass produced).

Of all the ones I know, probably Alembic.

Of mass-produced axes, PRS.

EDIT: also Gibson. Those Jazz guitars cost ****ing loads. 4000 euros for an ES-175, if I'm not mistaken.

3d guitars:

8000 to 15000 dollars

most guitars are expensive for their collector's value, not for their actual value, so it's hard to determine.

Vintage guitars will be. Brand new off a production line? Gibson or PRS. Or custom/indie luthier guitars will be a lot more than mass produced stuff, especially really well crafted acoustics.

Wayward_Son

Mass produced, would probably be Gibson or PRS. You could spend a lot more though if you wanted to.

what the ****, seriously? not $4,500? but $45,000 ??? how can a guitar be worth that much, did they pay the playboy models from 2000-2007 to paint it or something ,seriously, unless the woods EXTREMELY rare :/

I wouldn't be surprised if they used Brazilian rosewood for it which is pretty rare and is decreasing all the time. When I was at a PRS night at a music store near me the PRS representitive was saying that they have to take tree stumps of Brazilian rosewood and they have somenody that goes around the villages buying peoples homes just for the wood. The wiki page if anyones interested (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_Rosewood)

that is the tackiest looking piece of tat I have ever seen.

And to answer the question, to my knowledge, top of the line semi Gibbo's and full electric esp's all seem rather extortionate.

EDIT: and the custom replica gibsons, bit off topic, but why pay 6 grand so you can sound like someone else?! :S

PRS is falling down, their past dragons have been better. Not that it's not nice.

those prs dragons look so amazing. Even if I actually bought one I'd be afraid to play it. It look like the inlayer would go blind from the shimmer of all that inlay he put in.

Paul Languedoc guitars cost $10,000 not a penny less or a penny more.

Of all the ones I know, probably Alembic.

My Alembic Further was $7200 new, Little Darling was about $5000 used.
Probably not the most expensive, but the Further might be the best guitar
in existance. I have yet to play anything even close.

Even just looking at new guitars, this question would have to be qualified.
The most single guitar? Factory line? Average?

I got my Gibson Super 400 for $2300. New, I think they're over $10000 and used
ones still go for like $8000. So that's the most expensive one I've paid the least
for :) (It's a 74 in near perfect condition).

50.

My first guitar was a Gibson 79 LP Deluxe (I think about $500 new at the time).
Not a great guitar IMO. Traded it in for the 74 Gibson L5S (amazing guitar) for
a steal. A few years later I got the Super 400 (didn't know it would get SO
expensive). That's what I had for a long time. Most of the others I acquired
over about 1 1/2 years a couple years ago.

High quality guitars are getting more expensive all the time due to a shortage and rarity of certain woods, for instance, the Koa tree which only grows in the Caribbean is nearly extinct and now protected, luthiers are having to purchase stumps to make the guitars, and these are often not appropriate due to the damage they were subjected to when they were cut down!

Think how much a guitar made of Brazilian Rosewood or Koa would be worth in 20 years! Stuff property development, guitars is where the moneys at.

From what I've seen, Parker guitars are pretty dear. Them, Gibson, PRS, Gretsch and the reallt top of the range Fenders are the most I've seen regular mass produced guitars for.

Does anyone else hate how they did all of that inlaying and detail into the body and fingerboard and then completely leave the knobs plain.
