Could someone recc me some hardcore/metalcore bands that incorporate a lot of their spiritual beliefs into their music?

I already know (and love) 108, along with a bunch of Christian bands, so try to stay away from naming them unless they aren't well-known.

Haste The Day
August Burns Red
Underoath
Inhale Exhale
Means

I'm pretty sure all those are. Check a lot of the artists on Rise Records and Solid State Records. Almost all of them will be what you are looking for and the majority are either christian or have a mostly positive tone/attitude.

meh you probably know these anyway, it are the only 2 bands I know that are christian (that aren't mentioned yet) but in general I don't give a damn whether they're religious or not. It's the music that matters most to me.

^^I don't care either, but 108 actually adds an Eastern sound to some of their sound.

And did the rest of you mother****ers even read my post?

I know they are fairly well known, but alot of people haven't heard of them.

Zao.

Old stuff is more hardcore, more spiritual, new is more metalcore, less spiritual.

Really? I have never heard that.

A Plea For Purging is Christian.
For real hardcore: xLooking Forwardx, xDisciplex A.D., I'll try to add some others later, I'm super tired and about to take a nap.

The closest I could recommend you is old Zao and Nile (which isn't hardcore obviously)

he's probably talking about the middle-eastern/egyptian influences

yeah... i dont think they are christian with that song called "cast down the hertic" which btw has a kickass solo.

hahaha Listen to the poor man, and stop posting Underoath and August Burns Red. I can't really help you out with this, I can tell you heaps of heavier stuff that has some cool spiritual aspects to it, but it is by no stretch of the imagination hardcore. I don't think the sound you're looking for has been explored too much.

Yeah, he asked for bands with religious/ethnic influence.
I wasn't referring to them having to be Christian, trying to stray actually.

i know the 1st two are Deathcore, but i don't know/like too much metalcore. The last 3 are Metalcore, i don't like any of them personally, but you asked, and i gave. And Winter Solstice is just Amazing, so yeah.

hahaha he's looking for a particular sound though, the fact that the band members go to church on sunday clearly doesn't interest him.

casualtyvampire
10-28-2007, 11:34 AM
religious hardcore and metalcore doesnt realy stray from the normal sound coming from what ever of the two genres the band may fall under, they just have lyrics which encorperate their beliefs. hes looking for bands which label themselves religious or spiritual and encorperate their beliefs in the lyrics.

overcome
inside out
disciple
seventh star
bloody sunday
symphony in peril
looking forward

etc.

****ing sucks!

No offense.

Gah, Spence /ended this thread by pointing out how big of a ****ing backfire it is.

Though I guess I wasn't being too clear with what I was looking for.

I'm looking for just out-of-the-norm core music that has an ethnic/surreal sound to it (i.e. the use of instruments like sitars, tribal-sounding drums, etc.).

shai_savant
10-29-2007, 02:11 PM
what makes shai hulud a christian hardcore band? i think who ever said this is very wrong.

I just thought of this, but Ramallah had somewhat of a middle eastern influence to them. Or at least that's the impression I got.

They kind of go beyond the tough guy metal sounding sound, and actually have something to say other than "respecting their crew". I think that's pretty cool.

Check out their first album, "But a Whimper". Better than the second I think, tracks like Al-Shifa, Sleep, and True Crime kind of demonstrate what I'm saying

I used to be into them, but for me they were just a little too aggressive with their faith. They are more "fire and brimstone" than I believe. Some other bands I can suggest are Living Sacrifice, Mortal Treason, Mortification, Rob Rock, Narnia, Red, As Cities Burn, Spoken, The Showdown, and definitely Extol... Hate the Day, The Devil Wears Prada, Ultimatum, Holy Blood, and if you have an in for them Horde, Paramecium, Sveltchek (sp?), Saviour Machine, and Circle of Dust. Altera Enigma for the instrumental metal.
