So I'm looking for some songs in D standard. Try to stick to rock, metal, prog (I'd love some prog stuff), acoustic stuff, and classical please. Anything goes, I just need something to play other than originals. Not drop D, D standard (DGCFAD). Don't worry about difficulty, if I can't play it now I'll still take it to learn later. The only song I know of so far is Dream Theater's "Forsaken", but I'm not sure about the tabs that are up. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I forgot to post difficulty. I can alt pick, economy pick, tremelo pick, hammer-ons and pull-offs, tap, and string skip. I'm learning fingerpicking right now, so nothing too complex there. Other than that, if it isn't blazingly fast I should be able to get it down with some practice.

Why not just play any song just like you play them in Standard E?

Standard D is just E with all the strings tuned a full step flatter.

Any song from the last couple of Nightwish albums. Most of the tabs say Drop-D, but you just need to transpose them a bit. Drop-D makes some of them harder, actually, and the guitarist uses D Standard when he plays them.

Because then it sounds wrong to me. I don't just read off the tab, I listen to the original song. So if the notes I play are wrong, it drives me crazy. Playing it two frets up is an option, yes, but what about open strings? I know I could use a capo, but then it's just E standard with two frets off of my range.
Thanks for the Nightwish suggestion.

silent night, bodom night (children of bodom): hard
bed of razors (children of bodom): intermediate
crystal mountain (death): intermediate
Winter madness (wintersun) insanely hard

No, its D Standard then down another quarter step. On a tuner, instead of being A=440, it would be A=430.

all of the hatebreeder and follow the reaper albums by Children Of Bodom, they're very melodic with a high technical difficulty and very fun to play

Closer to 427,47. I believe Pantera actually tuned down 60 cents from 440, or about A 425.
