View Full Version : School gig

Okay, so me and my mates (a guitarist, a bassist and a drummer) want to play a song in the school's festival. We are mainly into everything, some of us might be more into metal while other more into modern rock or funk rock.
We want a famous song that people can be carried away with it and could actually like a lot.
Anyway, what songs would you recommend us to play? Preferably, rock or hard rock for 4 members?
And btw, I'm one of the guitarist, and the bassist is as well the singer.
Thanks very much!

"Dammit" by Blink 182. It's really easy on every instrument, and I'd say 9 outta 10 people will recognize it.
Good luck man!

Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
it had to be done! it's easy, it's recognizable, its a good song

yeah, smells like teen spirit since the solo is really easy

Smells Like Teen Spirit would be easy and fun but he said rock or hard rock for 4 members, Nirvana had 3. Why not do some Foo Fighters, like My Hero or Everlong?

How about that new Paralyze song by Finger 11?

Something by the Chili Peppers, it'll be recognized and most of it is pretty easy to learn.

I thought Nirvana wouldn't be a good choice cause it's formed by 3 members and it's 4 of us that are going to play it. Anyway, thanks. Any more suggestions?

mainstreem GN'R is pretty good. like Sweet Child O' Mine, Don't Cry, November Rain. Nickelback is pretty well known, but people will recognize AC/DC (if you can sing it lol) and that's always fun, I've played some Def Leppard at school stuff before and that was a good hit. like Rock of Ages, Photograph, Hysteria, and Let's Get Rocked... good luck, school gigs are really fun
